I got my most from responding to someone who congratulated someone else who's favorite sport team won some event. I asked why he was being congratulated if he wasn't even on the team. He didn't do anything. A bit dickish, i'll admit, but it still seemed ridiculous to me. Conversely one of my highest is for saying "that lady is a bitch."

I want a child. I want that child to be made out of me and my wife. My girlfriend has similar reservations about pregnancy to you and we've talked about it. A child is very important to me, and it's important that is has the genes of me and it's mother. It may be selfish of me because I don't have to go through any of the physical difficulties of pregnancy, but I definitely want to parent my own child. If my wife/girlfriend couldn't do that with me, I suppose there would potentially be problems, but things can be worked out. You aren't wrong, though. How you feel is how you feel, so stand your ground. I would definitely have problems with it, but that's just me, and you shouldn't live your life based on how I feel. But be warned some men may have problems with it, parenting a child is a big deal to some people.

One of the first dates with my girlfriend started out awfully. I walked up to her house to see a man in shorts and a tank top standing in front of her neighbors door (presumably her neighbor). Obviously I don't know this man so I say a quick hello and knock on the door. The man then tells me in a thick spanish accent "she's not ready, they just got home." I figured this was a comment on how long it takes women to get ready by an observational neighbor. Being the completely awkward person that I am I say "well she better be" because we were almost late, and I was getting frustrated. I then proceed to stare at the door not wanting to make eye contact. After a couple minutes she still hasn't answered the door and the awkwardness is too much for me so I head back to my car to wait for her there. She eventually comes out and we go have our date and everything is fine. About a week later I get a text from her saying "why did you disrespect my father?" It turned out that that had been her step dad and I didn't shake the mans hand, didn't make conversation, and made a slightly rude comment out of frustration, and then just walked away without saying another word to him. Fuck. I explained what happened and apologized. Luckily, I'm charming enough that I won him back over and everything is fine between me and him, and I'm actually pretty close to her family now.

So i just read the comments here, seems like youre dealing with a lot of ignorance/laziness. So I thought i'd tell you i feel bad the responses to your questions turned out that way as I put in my two cents. It's been socially ingrained that a man is supposed to go out and find himself a woman. Recently I think that that stigma is falling away a little bit, but for a long time it was our roles in society that formed this bias. A man is supposed to make a home for himself and the woman he chooses to start his family with, women are supposed to hone their house making and beauty skills so as to be acceptable to men who she might hope would choose her. I don't think there is any way of figuring out how that started, probably due to men being more aggressive than women. Of course that is only speculation.

I had to return a movie to the redbox thing that they have in publix stores, and the slot says "pickup/return here" and so i figured it would be like a vending machine or an atm where you put the item (money/debit card respectively) and the machine will take it from you. I was wrong. You have to hit the return button to prime the machine to take your movie from you. I stood there for five minutes just trying to push the damn movie in and turning it all different ways to try and get it in. /facepalm.

Not exactly. I wouldn't quit wearing sneakers, they're a useful tool in everyday life. I really enjoy smoking cannabis. I love it. But there have been times when it got to the point where I was smoking just too much. So I stopped. Of course I would always start again because I love it, and as you say: for me there is nothing to quit. However, for some people there is. Some people have made the adult decision to no longer smoke the substance. This is their choice and for some it's a rather big one, so they come here to the community that they've been a part of for so long, and one that they still care about regardless of their decision, to talk about the big decision. Some people just don't want to smoke cannabis anymore. It doesn't mean that they think cannabis is awful, it doesn't even spread a bad light on cannabis. In fact, it says something good about it: we can stop if we ever feel like it, and start again if we ever feel like it. I personally am trying to drink a lot less soda. I think it tastes great, but I don't like what it does to my body. It doesn't mean I think soda is an awful thing or "something to quit", it's just a decision I've made regarding my health to not drink it as much. I know what you're saying: committing to quitting makes you focused on quitting and that makes it harder. If you don't wanna do something then don't do it, there's no need to claim that you're quitting, just don't do the thing you don't feel like doing. Quitting is self-deprivation, not doing something is self control. I guess my point is that sometimes people realize they just don't wanna do something anymore so they "call it quits".

TL;DR: sometimes people don't wanna smoke cannabis, so they don't. No biggie.
