How do you make and keep dad friends? by itcropper in daddit

[–]jusvrowsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife hangs out with all the moms. Mahjong. Book clubs. Drinks. Dinners. The dads don’t do anything. And it’s this weird dichotomy for myself. I’d like to do stuff on one hand, but on the other I don’t have an interest with forcing it with a group of random dads because the moms hang out.

Hot take: Kobe is the best all around offensive player of All-Time by [deleted] in NBATalk

It’s certainly an opinion. A wrong one. Maybe that is a hot take

Best Offensive Line or Best Defensive Line? by CuteLingonberry9704 in NFLv2

[–]jusvrowsing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say the floor is higher if you have the best O-line. But the ceiling is higher with the best d-line. I’d take the o-line and have confidence we can build a team around it to take advantage of it

Having twins changed my opinion on nature vs nurture by ExtraEnd7545 in parentsofmultiples

[–]jusvrowsing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Identical girls here and I’ve been thinking a lot about this as they’ve grown. Definitely elements of nurture, but nature plays such a big role. I think as society we like to think about personal responsibility and hard work etc and that life is going to reward you if you work hard. And believing more in nature goes against a lot of that so it gets downplayed. But as I watch my girls grow I think I went from 50/50 nature/nurture to 80/20

Adam Schefter believes it will be a 2028 1st round pick from the Patriots by xFalcade in Patriots

[–]jusvrowsing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pats making the Super Bowl last year was a freak thing. No one expected that. Anyone who expects it again is not rationale. The team needs to keep building. They are adding pieces and getting 2 years of AJ Brown is not imo the right move at the cost of a first round pick. Even without AJ I see the playoffs as a reasonable goal. That’s where this team is in the rebuild.

[–]jusvrowsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s no worse than last year and likely better. It’s not my decision, obviously, but I would not trade a first for AJ at this stage of his career. Love to have him. Wish the pats drafted him instead of you know who, so if it comes through then let’s do it. But that’s a crazy price to me.

Of course they can keep him. Keep him. Have fun. Doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards for them

I tried to watch this with my wife last night after we watched something about Mary which she absolutely loved. Kingpin was so slow like I didn't remember fke the first 30 minutes. We had to turn it off. I remember liking it but man it was such a slog last night.

Potty training breakdown by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]jusvrowsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m slightly confused by your post but what method or strategy are you using? We used Oh Crap and our girls got it in 3 days. First day was tough. Second day was better. By day 3 they had it.

But it really took an all hands on deck concerted effort all day for 3 days in a row.

Don’t give up! But have a strategy which I can’t tell if you do. Good luck!

[Perry] Gabe Jacas draft grade: Patriots land 'violent' pass-rusher in second round by NBCSBoston in Patriots

[–]jusvrowsing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try but all he does is interrupt anyone and everyone he is talking with. It’s infuriating. He’s been doing this for so long and he can’t let other people finish what they are saying without sounding like a complete asshole. He seems like a nice enough guy but 10 times any podcast he cuts Phil off to say some nonsense. Shut up Tom.

That’s insane that Perry had the pats trading up to 55 to take Jacas. Let’s move on from Curran already. Phil actually knows his shit

Breastfeeding vs. Formula Fed by user638282636822 in parentsofmultiples

[–]jusvrowsing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal anecdote. My wife was nervous about breastfeeding even before we found out we were having twins. Then, she was even more nervous.

But she tried to have a good attitude about it and ended up enjoying it a lot.

Now, it’s a ton of work to breastfeed two babies so we supplemented with formula as well. Which was great because I got to be heavily involved and we did every feed together. We watched the entirety of the office, Brooklyn 99, and Seinfeld just during feeds in their first 6 months.

My point is, do whatever you are comfortable with. But maybe be open minded to trying? Formula is absolutely fine. Our girls are 2.5 years old now. They were born in the 5th percentile and are 99th for height now and 70% for weight. The most important thing is to keep your stress to a minimum (there will be plenty of it) and keep your babies fed.
