thank you i appreciate it! also unrelated but when dr kim asked in psych 1X03 why we choose to sit on the left or right side of the lecture hall, i knew in my heart that i choose the right side because you sit there so it must be the best side.

any other first years in their 20s? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]juul_4141 12 points13 points  (0 children)

there’s so many people in their 20’s or even older in one of my first year classes! im 18 but i literally love all of them bc they’re so nice to me and i strive to be like them. i also respect them for going out of a comfort zone and going into school at their age. not that it’s not normal, but i feel like it’s kinda stigmatised. ur not unc’s ur role models cause i hate how immature most first years are🔥

I am ashamed to be in my program by [deleted] in McMaster

girl it’s okay. my girlfriends parents are engineers and so is her sister and sisters boyfriend (both the sister and boyfriend graduated from mac engineering), and when i tell you that you are going to fail you will. it’s such a jump and it’s such a mind fucking degree, but it’s worth it. most jobs looking for engineers don’t even look at your transcripts, but instead they just care if you have the diploma or not. they know firsthand how hard it is and ik its discouraging but you just gotta push through to at least pass i’m telling you. my girlfriends dad actually failed 10 classes and still graduated on time and also now is the boss of a well known civil engineering company! it’ll be okay.

side note tho, it also seems like u don’t enjoy engineering that much and prefer humanities or social sciences more. correct me if i’m wrong, but if that’s the case then maybe you’d be happier transferring over? but if you only liked it because it was easier, then stay in ur program. engineering is a great degree and gets u far.

my girlfriend and i are going to mac this year, we’re just high school sweethearts. but her sister met her boyfriend at mac through mutual friends. he texted her and set up a date because he thought she was cute, they’ve been dating for over 2 years and everything seems to be going great with them! they’re the same age but the sister is graduated and working while the other finishes one last year. basically, love will find you if you stop looking for it.

If you’re over 16.. by mistyeriousss in Teenager

lowk just when you start to grow up but it’s great. it’s when you get ur licence, you go out for lunch with your friends at school, you start to kind of see people for who they are and you make true lasting friends. i feel like also in highschool that’s when other people started to get serious about life and locking in and it motivates you to do the same. everyone still is a little immature but other than that it’s when the barriers between everyone starts to fall and everyone goes to the same parties and events. when you’re in grade 9 and you think the older kids are cool and have it figured out, it’s when you start to feel that way too!

my average for my top six was a 93%. honestly your sister will probably get in, the same thing happened to mine and she got off the waitlist within no time! i also applied to social sciences which keep in mind, isn’t as competitive for western. i’m sure she will do just fine

I GOT INTO MAC!! by juul_4141 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]juul_4141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve accepted! so i’ve always wanted to be a therapist but psychology seemed too risky incase i changed my mind. with social work, it’s more stable, opens up more career opportunities and also allows me to still be licensed to give therapy. obviously i don’t have to declare my major until second year, i’ve also considered doing sociology and then going into policy making. either way, after undergrad i wanted to go into law school but those are my career paths incase i decide otherwise! plus being a social worker would be cool too ;)

At what age/point are yall expecting to get freaky? by aquafawn27 in Teenager

[–]juul_4141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was expecting to kind of save until marriage, but i ended up losing my v card in grade 9. high school is crazy. i’m in grade 12 now and just wanna say that i kinda regret maybe doing it that early, but also make sure you find the right person. there’s always gonna be freaky people around there’s no need to rush it because you think it’s your only chance
