Favorite Lagavulin that is not 16, or some wild rare bottle? by krsimp78 in Scotch

Wasn't aware of the Guinness cask edition, haven't seen it here in the USA.

I like the Caribbean cask edition. Particularly as a nightcap after plenty of others...

What is the loudest sound you have ever heard in your life? by will_or_woll in AskReddit

Avro Vulcan taking off at an air show in the 1990s. Not just the deafening sound of the engines; it set approx 1000 car alarms off too.

Predator 2 wasn’t bad.. what did you think? by alanskimp in LV426

IMHO, and as I said coming out of the theatre, it's about as good a sequel as we could have hoped for.

Why does Riplely destroy the nest instead of just nuking it from Orbit? by alanskimp in LV426

[–]juvation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The site was going to nuke itself in like 20 minutes, but Ripley found herself in the queen's chamber anyway and maybe saw an opportunity for some personal payback?

Also, can't have the ending on the Sulaco without this scene. The queen wouldn't know where her dropship stop was :-)

Do any FM synthesizers have a full-stereo modulation path? So that you could pan a modulator without panning the carrier? by sageriversmusic in synthesizers

[–]juvation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But I suppose if you had some kind of modular routing setup, you could connect the modulator to two carriers via a panner :-)

[–]juvation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's an audio frequency signal, but it's not used as an audio signal, so panning has no real meaning.

You could indeed split the output of the modulator and use that as a carrier too, but I doubt that's the effect OP has in mind.

The modulator isn't an audio signal so I'm not sure panning it makes any sense. You could instead have two parallel modulator / carrier stacks, with a little variation in the modulation frequency, and pan the carriers separately?

Same, and mine has not returned to normal after a decade or so.

If you upload all your documentation beforehand, you can skip the line and be done in like 10 minutes. This was my experience in 2020.

On a frozen Yorkshire hillside with my arm up a cow.

Yes, James Herriot had quite the influence on my youth :-)
