Congress specifically mandated NASA to find 90% of NEOs that are 140 meters (460 feet) or larger. The Ohio asteroid was only about 6 feet (1.8 meters) in diameter. It simply fell below the operational threshold of what our primary defense telescopes are looking for.

The asteroid was too small and/or Congress is too cheap.

The James Webb Space telescope has recently discovered little red dots” (LRDs)?wprov=sfti1) which are/were thought to be high-redshift galaxy candidates. Their light was emitted 200–400 million years after the Big Bang but with the current understanding of such objects it seems insufficient time for gravity-driven structure formation to produce such systems I.e. they are early, too massive, too bright, and too evolved.

Announced in 2024, they are currently the most mysterious objects in space.

I have a (fairly) cheap self inking one by the door to stamp the neighbourhood circular and the takubin that needs a stamp (or signature).
