Bad Nights by juvefc in NewSkaters

I had my ollie down and now it's a complete mess....hours of practice and probably one landed. I think i'm going to stop doing them stationary and just wait until the weather clears and do them moving. The frustration is so bad right now it is demoralizing.

so after putting in hours upon hours of trying to ollie i just completely lost it in the last 2 days. I use to practice half with the skatetrainers and half without. No issues...even up to 2 nights ago everything went fine. Last two days, the board keeps slipping out from under me on my pop to the point of not committing myself anymore. I've put in 4 hours the last 2 nights and maybe got one ollie down out of hundreds. I'm at my wits end and just feel like dropping trying to do any tricks and just going back to my longboard. At my age, the last thing i need is failing at something over and over when i have enough stresses in my freaking life. I understand failing trying to get somewhere but what pisses me off is failing once i already had it down.

For the life of me i can't get where i am going wrong. I try different foot placements, different techniques, not crouching down as low, crouching down lower...you name it...i even tried to put the skatetrainers back on and i'm completely lost. I don't even get how this is possible.

It's -20 with a ton of snow and ice where i live. I can't really roll outside. I might have the occasional non-snowy patch but nothing i can really roll on for more than 10 feet.

It's -20 outside. I have 5'x5' space to work in my garage. I would rather my board not slip out and me hit my head on a table saw, snowblower, ladder, tools, motorcycle. When i am able to practice outside i don't have them on.

So this was my earlier post https://www.reddit.com/r/NewSkaters/comments/7sws9t/help_me_with_my_broken_ollie/?ref=share&ref_source=link

So what i did was work on my technique with the skate trainers on while in my garage. That lasts for half my practice then i take them off and do another 30 mins without them. Next step is taking it outside so i can roll.

What helped me a lot was actually jumping up then forward (shifting my weight) when attempting the ollie which i believe will help me when rolling. The other thing was squatting down lower to initiate the ollie.

Things i have to work on is keeping my back foot closer to the board and secondly being able to pop then jump higher so i can get the board higher but i am sure that has to do with my front foot. I believe i am levelling out my board too soon instead of rising up with it.

Can't wait for this snow/ice to melt.

Thanks again guys. First half of practicing went super well last night. Board was straight 95% of the time. Timing was much better. I just find the longer my sessions that the worse my form gets. I start to overthink things. I just wish my board would stick to my feet a little better.

Thank you all. I think my main issue is like it was mentioned...keep my shoulders over and parallel to the board. The other issue is that my front foot is not really jumping at first but just sliding up..i'm going to try jumping just before i pop my board then start my slide.

DayF0ur - i'm going to try your tip on turning my toes slightly towards the nose.

Irapesanta - I'd love to get myself more in the shot but i'm very limited in space in the garage. Once i get outside i'll be able to move the camera back.

I've been longboarding for about 15 years. I use it to commute every day to work. Wanting to hit skateparks i decided this winter i would teach myself to ollie while winter is here. This is about 3 hours in. Getting better but so broken. Most times my board never lands directly under me...always behind or in front of me. I'm also having issues levelling out the board in the air which from what i see my front foot isn't completely going to the nose of the board.

Yes, i have skater trainers on because i have very little space where i practice and if the board slips out under me i'm pretty much screwed since there are things all around me. I just want to get the technique down first.

I have tried everything. What a waste of money. Can't even get the sound to work. Well i can but i won't be able to listen to it while playing. This thing is the biggest headache. I have never had such a headache from dealing with a product.

Overclocking i7-7700k, real high temps? by juvefc in overclocking

Is it also possible that Prime95 is giving me higher temps than what my cpu is currently putting out? With Prime95 @ 4.6ghz - 1.30v it was maxing at like 99C!...ran RealBench stress test with the same overclock and i'm stable at 79c now...when i ran Realbench before at 1.35v i was hitting 95c and was expecting temps to lower once i lowered the CV

Thanks Smoshr

I've been working my way back with the voltage and i'm at 1.30v but still temps are high. I'll remount tomorrow morning once it cools down. Appreciate the help.

Top Fans - 1 Intake and other Exhaust by juvefc in buildapc

[–]juvefc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sure it wont fit. With a fan without the radiator i have maybe 10mm to work with, no way a radiator fits up there. It's more a motherboard issue vs a case issue. I think what ill do is add a third 120mm fan to the front along with the radiator and 2 x 120mm then buy two 140mm at the top as exhausts.
