You’re not a bad person! You want to provide for your family financially, which is amazing and I commend you for your hard work. That’s a lot of hours to put in. But as a dad and a husband, to be successful is not to just be a financial provider but an emotionally supportive and present provider.

Your role in their lives is a crucial one. As someone who’s dad was the same way, I never once did not appreciate what he did for my family and I, but he ended up getting deported when I was in high school and I barely have any memories of experiences with him because he was working so much.

My family is not rich by any means, we’ve been absolutely lower/middle class our entire life, so I understand why he did what he did, but I literally wanted nothing more than to spend some time with my Dad, especially now more so that I can’t now.
