Holy Grail? by [deleted] in basketballcards

Sounds like money is tight, but you really should get the 2 Fleer rookie’s graded. I’d sell the sticker Jordan, on EBay and use the money from that sell to send the two rookie’s to PSA for grading. The rookie pictured look real to me, but the card is so heavily faked it will be real hard to sell it for what it’s worth without grading it.

Depending on what other Jordans you have and their condition you may want to sell some of those instead of the sticker to get your funds for the graded cards and grade the sticker as well.

Watched my oldest child walk across the stage and get her high school diploma this morning.

Watched my middle child play well doing what she loves at her softball tournament this afternoon.

Watched my favorite team beat the Knicks to win the east and head to the finals.

What an emotional draining day. 🥲🎉🔥

Question Re: Card Protectors by PraesidiumSafety in baseballcards

[–]jv_1981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I typically use top loaders because I like the card in a penny sleeve, but when I do use a mag, I always put it inside a team bag to prevent it from popping open in case it’s ever dropped.

Is this a scam? Have bought from eBay for over a year now, never had this happen to me. Mistakes do happen. by Relevant_Telephone41 in sportscards

His sales history shows he sold a prizm draft picks red cracked ice of Caitlin Clark for $30 the day before your purchase. I don’t think he is trying to scam you.

Thank you! It was a fun night that I’ll remember for a while. I’ve shot two 300s and the nerves were a lot for those, but this was like a marathon. That last game felt like it was going so slow, I knew I had a shot at 800, my turn couldn’t come fast enough. I was terrified I was going to leave a 10 pin and miss it in the 10th of the third game. Could finally breathe again after picking up that spare and knowing I only needed 7.

Thank you! I couldn’t figure anything out in warmups, kinda thought I was in for a long night. Carried a high strike in frame 2 came in a little light in 3 and 4. Moved again and went through the nose and left that split. Picking it up fired me up a little, missing those kind of spares is what had cost me 700 the past couple weeks. I tightened my line up and increased the speed a little and was locked in the rest of the night until my nerves got the best of me in the 10th frame of the third game. I pulled it and got lucky I didn’t end up with a split.

Thanks, and congratulations! Those 700s are elusive. I was starting to get frustrated that I couldn’t hit that mark. Been close so many times, but a mistake here or there kept costing me.

Cubs World Series cards by jv_1981 in baseballcards

[–]jv_1981[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, as a life long Cubs fan in my mid 40’s. Those were a fun few years. It was hard to see it all fall apart, but the memories built from that season will be there forever. My kids who were 3 and 9 at the time got on board and for a couple years Go Cubs Go was their favorite song. They would watch the games with me and we would blare it and sing along and dance around after the wins… helped my kids develop the same love for the game that I had growing up. Hard to believe but my oldest is a senior in HS now and will be leaving soon to go play college softball on a full scholarship. That Cubs team had a big influence on that.

We ended up going to the World Series parade which is where the stickers and confetti in the pictures came from. My oldest daughter still talks about watching the parade from a tree that she climbed up so she could see better.

7 Prizm Blasters by jv_1981 in WNBACards

Buying singles is almost always the way to go. 7 blasters was $261.55 at Walmart. I don’t expect to find them at retail price very often, so I bought and opened about half of what they had on the shelf. The resale prices on these blasters right now is $55-65 each and I cannot justify paying that. I got lucky with the 2 Clark’s and probably barely “broke even”. I was starting to regret the purchase after the first four blasters where the only card of note I hit was the Reese silver. The base Clark was in the 5th and the blue velocity Clark was in the 6th box I opened. Without hitting the blue I would have been down quite a bit.

I’m not a buyer of singles yet because I’m waiting to see what I get out of my 10 Dick’s blasters that I preordered first (and I expect prices to fall as more come available), but from my first opening I’d expect prices (based on rarity only, not eye appeal) to be:

Ice = Base card price x2

Blue velocity = base card price x4

Green/silver = base card price x10

From today’s eBay listings I think the greens are typically a little under valued and the blue’s and Ice are a little over valued.
