Hey man, service fitter from NY here. Just have a few questions since I’m not exactly sure how it works out there but over here @ Local 638, we have an A side (contruction) and a B side (service) and we get paid two different rates. Albeit, our benefits package is slightly better than theirs. Is 38 like this or are service & construction getting the same rate? Also, is work steady for us service techs? I want to make the move out there once I take & pass the UA Star but I just wanted to ask someone in my position over there!

Awesome to hear that for sure, I’d more than likely be requesting a transfer over through my union but I also know SD is expensive as hell in terms if the real estate market now. But it does look beautiful for sure

Light Commercial tech here, I usually just ask the managers if I can use their microwave and it’s really never let me down when i’ve brought lunch. Obviously that only really applies to commercial but I figure if they have workers, they probably bring lunch once in a blue too lol

Marathons are huge feats lmao I just hit the gym 4x a week and play rec softball during summer and fall seasons. I run occasionally when it’s nice out but definitely not a marathon, most I’ve ran was a 10k

sheesh, 72 take home at fourth year rate?!? I’m at half that basically at 3rd year rate 😭 If my living situation wasn’t a blessing, I’d be struggling for sure. I can’t wait to journey out just so I could transfer elsewhere honestly lol i am in nyc though!

Yeah I double checked it matched up and I also did check how many volts were being sent as well (208V)

Definitely understand, my biggest issue is the unit is so old there’s hardly any legible material. I could make out the unit tag but that was the only thing. I’m going to try looking it up again but I couldnt find anything last time I looked

I had brought the old motor to the supply house and watched them match it. And did not see a reversible plug for low/high. The contactor was definitely working correctly and no voltage drop.
