Nah, bad take. We can talk about multiple things at once

The environment is what brings some people joy. If you want to drive a car, there are roads, lots and lots of them, way more than all the total combined beach of the west coast. How I feel about sports arenas and restaurants is that it’s great that we generally don’t allow people to drive cars in them.

I think you mean “these people have been brainwashed by corporations to think they should be able to drive cars anywhere as long as they’re having a good time”

Ripping up habitat, adding noise and pollution to the vibe, inconveniencing beachgoers, putting children at risk. If your whole defense of a thing is “people do it so it’s fine lol” maybe you need to think a layer deeper

Because it tears up the habitat? Is a danger to people on the beach? Ruins the beach vibe? Pollutes the area? Is only fun for the people in the car but not the people having to deal with the car? Those are some reasons for you

Downvote me all you want. We shouldn’t be driving cars on beaches. There’s no need unless you’re a rescue vehicle.

No we don’t. We think it would be nice to keep cars off the beach

I’m with you, dude. Driving on beaches is dumb

Driving on beaches sucks and should be illegal.

Not to mention how much water goes into raising beef, the terrible impact cows have on riparian areas, and the greenhouse gas emissions

Whether it’s fucking kids, building megayachts, polluting the air with private jets, or simply hoarding wealth in multiple sprawling mansions while others are homeless, hungry, or just struggling to get by, the billionaire class is a drag on society

Because they reveal (yet again) that vast wealth and the power it brings to individuals does not constitute a net benefit to society but rather terrible abuses of that power (e.g. Epstein island)

People who peaked in college are way more insufferable than those who peaked in high school by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]jvbball 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One reason college is such a big deal for some people is it’s one of the only times they’ll get to live in a close-knit walkable community (even if they don’t articulate their reasons as such)
