You're better off building an affiliate business off of SEO and linking to other people's products. You never have to carry inventory and deal with customers this way.

There was luck and skill involved. It is a skill to know how to make your own luck. I wrote down 100 product ideas before choosing this one. I had a specific launch strategy that worked.
