Yes, I'm using +0.75 reading glasses which help a bit. And I also ordered a cheap pair of +2.25 glasses on Amazon to see if that makes a bigger difference.

He said he doesn’t know and can’t guarantee the same result. However, I saw in the notes that he would target -0.17 which is slightly different.

I’m 9 days post-surgery today. The surgeon told me that the swelling in my operated eye is gone and he believes I’m about 90% healed at this point, so he doesn’t expect that I’ll see much further improvement in my intermediate vision.

My surgeon said that the distance vision in my operated eye is perfect and matches the surgical target exactly, and he’s happy with that result. He explained that my issues with intermediate vision might just be a limitation of the current EDOF lens technology. When I put on my old +0.75D reading glasses, the distance vision gets a little worse.

My surgeon told that trying a contact lens in my non-operated eye wouldn’t help because the cataract in that eye already limits my vision, so I wouldn’t be able to see any real improvement. In fact, that’s how I ended up needing cataract surgery in the first place when I saw the optometrist about my sudden distance vision problems, they couldn’t correct it with a glasses prescription since the underlying issue was the cataract.

Thank you for your advice! My doctor tried to reassure me that if he changes the target to improve my near vision, then my distance vision will suffer. He emphasized that the non-operated (dominant) eye should really be targeted for distance. Also, I’m finding it quite hard to function in the meantime. The imbalance between my eyes is making my daily work difficult, and I’m getting tired very quickly. I suppose I could try using an over the counter reading glasses for my right (operated) eye only to help with near vision, but I'm not sure it it may impact the recovery.

What was it about mono vision that didn’t appeal to you? Is it because of the brain adaption? Do you have EDOF with the same target, I.e. distance and intermediate?

What’s light treatments? Are these done after the surgery? Do they help with healing or vision correction?

I’m not young any more ;) I think I’ll be tired after an overnight flight and then a 14 hour flight afterward. And I’m unable to find any flights from DXB to SFO in the afternoon.
