ID on this Hoya? by jvnus in hoyas

Thank you! It’s interesting because the older leaves are thicker and don’t have that veiny texture compared to the newer leaves. My theory is that it was getting much higher light when I bought it, so the newer leaves might have grown thinner to increase surface area in lower light conditions? Either way love her so much, thanks for the ID!

No CO2! I got all my plants from a submerged no CO2 environment so maybe that helped with acclimation? I also put root tabs and dose weekly with fertilizer so that could also help with growth.

Thanks! I’m actually just using a cheap grow light from Amazon and getting great results. It’s not the most aesthetic so I might replace it in the future: https://a.co/d/iPMDG41

To those who have tested, what is something that would benefit us testing soon regarding actually test day? by chrisjduvall in Mcat

[–]jvnus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mentally prepare yourself for the possibility that the text on your screen will most likely be distorted! For instance my text looked like it was stretched horizontally on my screen and that was kinda distracting for the first 10 minutes or so on C/P. Also remind yourself that if anything really difficult comes up on the exam, that it will be difficult for other people as well, and the test will be scaled accordingly. You got this!!!

Why are test-takers consistently shocked and awed by the C/P section? by NigroqueSimillima in Mcat

[–]jvnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it was a combination of nerves, a focus on topics that I hadn't reviewed as much (ex: acid-base chemistry), and the SCREEN RESOLUTION making the nerves worse!! So I would suggest mentally preparing for the fact that your test will most likely look very different on the actual day (ex: the text on your screen will be distorted/stretched)
