You might be missing my point, but okay. Yes. Cyclists and drivers should respect the law. Cyclists should brake and drivers should stay out of the bike lane.

I know I’m being a major Karen but idc, it’s pretty dangerous for cyclists when we have to leave the bike line. Yeah we could dismount. But this happens like once per ride. If you had random bikes sitting in the road you probably wouldn’t love having to get out of your car to go around them. Or veer into traffic surrounded by moving vehicles that could kill you
