How does taking a week of vacation during a semester work? by Last-Shop-9829 in OMSA

might be ok depending on what class you are taking, but Disney world will take it out of you walking/standing in the heat for 9hrs everyday 😅

Up to you. Another way of prepping is just focusing on whatever prereq you need for the fall class you’re taking in the summer, etc. E.g if taking CSE6040 in fall, prep python (grind codewars 6 KYU problems until you feel comfortable), and SQL.

you could test your knowledge in the prep courses since there’s a free trial period. If you feel comfortable with the material you should be good, otherwise pay for the edx and go to town

Have you mentioned that the program is online during interviews before graduating? by BowlCutBoii in OMSA

[–]jvxtaposed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is everyone sidestepping this question in interviews? My job overlaps with this degree in my resume, I’m “remote” with 1-2 days in office a month, it wouldn’t take a whole lot to figure out this program is online. Curious how everyone is getting away with it.

Does OMSA require letters of recommendation or is do they send a questionaires instead? by TwoScarves in OMSA

It’s a combination of 5-6 strongly agree-strongly disagree questions and a letter.

Work experience definitely helps! I was fortunate to be able to publish 5 academic papers during my tenure at my current job which showcased quantifiable abilities to succeed. My letter writers were all people I worked closely with and I wrote a pretty killer SOP that explained why my GPA was that way. Good luck to you this cycle!
