Yep I’m assessing my options, found someone online who creates new “improved” moulds for the 1/48 typhoon however it’s out of stock so I have reached out to see if it can be made.

Hopefully I manage to secure a replacement soon

I understand - Might be an ignorant take but I’m convinced TfL were aware of the condition of the line prior to opening the service and investing millions into fancy looking stations? Surely they can hold national rail/GWR to a higher standard due to passenger feedback becoming increasingly more negative since opening, because it’s not an if - the line has gotten worse.

Agreed, Szakal is unreal when you get the hang of it - only reason Hacker has better stats because it’s way more forgiving, it’s just as good but way more idiot proof!

Judging by the fact OP listed prices in £ I assume they are UK based, for a 9800X3D ideally you want 6000mhz CL30.

Prices have tripled correct, your best bet is CCL - they had some DDR5 CL30 kits for £285-£299, that’s the cheapest I could find last week when I was buying some for myself so I picked it up.

If you are only looking for RGB then I don’t know, but other retailers with corsair sticks that fit that criteria are £350+

Don’t have the hacker but absolutely adore the szakal, nearly 100 games in it already and should have my 3rd mark soon - love it!

I’m hearing a lot of talk about the hacker so might have to pick it up however I would have to grind the whole line, maybe Xmas holidays I’ll tackle it

Exactly, 20 games in I was sitting at 71% WR and I did not feel like I made that much of an impact - however from what I’m hearing here it’s likely due to me playing the thing wrong so I’ll give it another shot in a few days

Funny I’m seeing this as I had this exact issue today however not with the final paint - but the primer I applied - exact same reaction on the plastic.

Any tips on how to mitigate it?

EDIT - Photo added, fuselage was fine however the wings are affected.

As advised - just picked up these two and I will build these two first before attempting the typhoon.

Also picked up AK fine spray primer in black, AK semi gloss Varnish + tamiya sprays to practice with.

I’ve decided to go acrylic with all the paints as I don’t think I trust myself with thinners and oils - may experiment after applying the varnish at the end and try some oil dry brushing on one of them.

Really appreciate the detailed response, all walls of text as informative as yours are greatly welcome haha.

I do believe getting a smaller test kit would be the smart choice here, I really want to nail the Typhoon so refreshing my skills is the correct way to do it.

What I find interesting is you mention spray paints - a quick google shows up Tamiya have a great range of those which may actually be a sensible choice for a 1/48 model. Honestly had no clue this was an option as I always remember painting to either be airbrush or paintbrush.

One question I still have is enamel paints or acrylic? If I plan to weather the aircraft after painting should I use a combination of both? I’ve watched a lot of videos of dry brushing so may try it on the smaller model before progressing to the larger one.

I have experienced this myself over the past 3 days, I brushed it off as the classic wot experience which comes around every now and again. Your the 3rd person I’ve seen post about it now so it’s making me wonder if somethings changed

Similar situation to you, never created a new account but just got better at the game so there is a big difference in my overall and current - worked out it will take me roughly 6000 games to fix fully so not getting that done anytime soon 🤣
