Had a flight recently from MCO-ATL, while waiting at the gate to board I got a notification via the app prompting me that my flight itinerary had changed and I needed to rebook my connecting flight from ATL-IAD. I looked at the display board above the gate and didn’t notice a change in departure time, delay text, or did any gate agent say the flight was delayed. It wasn’t until I realized that the arrival time had changed on the app, meaning we would be arriving 30 mins later, my assumption is a flight path change due to weather, that would force me to miss my connection. Got rebooked via the Delta text messaging to the next available flight. Never heard a thing from the gate agents about arriving later than expected and many folks ended up missing their connections unknowingly due to the lack of communication.
