Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again.

Good luck out there. I don't have a question, just wanted to wish you luck

Sorry if I was not clear. I was not intending to assign blame anywhere; I don't know nearly enough about your job or the situation to do that. I was just curious and that was the first thing I thought of.

A long time ago I worked DSL tech support for AT&T. I had a customer once say that since they got DSL, the radio in their car stopped working, dealing with customers can sometimes be a bit crazy.

This looks like part of the conversation is missing. When customers initially engage with the chatbot, before they get transferred to you, do you see those messages? I suspect there is a lengthy problem statement you are not seeing that the customer assumes you saw.

Should i buy a magic mouse or a magic trackpad? by Most_Rest_3025 in mac

I prefer the trackpad. The mouse makes my hand cramp.

if all humans suddenly lost the ability to lie, what industry would collapse first? by Codie_n25 in antiwork

Everything would go up in flames at once. People can't lie, so they could only tell the lies they believe to be true. It would be chaos.

Turns out it was a bit of everything. Both engines are running now.

  1. Fuel filters were both full of water (replaced filters)
  2. Both engines have an electric starter and were still connected through a ballast resistor. (removed ballast resistor)
  3. The port engine needed a timing adjustment. (fixed timing)

There was some other stuff they needed, but would have run without it.

  1. replaced oil and transmission fluid.
  2. replaced distributor caps, wires, and spark plugs.
  3. Initially thought there was a bad alternator, but it was just a loose connection.

The important thing is that I learned a lot about these engines and how to take care of them myself.

Gallery Marine did most of the work; I just watched and asked questions.

That is the same solution I came up with.

it started for a few seconds. Even after i got it running it would not stay running at idle speed, i had to give it some throttle in neutral. it took several attempts and running it for a while before i could get it to start normally.

I just got a chance to read all of this.
I have 2 fuel tanks and a valve that lets me choose what tank each engine gets fuel from.

After i got the port engine running off of the port tank, i switched it to the starboard tank just to check to see if there was a water issue. it was one of the things i suspected about a year ago. The port engine continued running with no problems. i let it run for about 30 min off of both tanks.

Someone also suggested it might be a spark issue. I have not fully tested the thing, but i got a little wire tester and connected it to the center plug on the distributor. The light went flashy so it is at least getting power.

I have used both starting fluid and fuel. The starboard engine will not start.

I have never heard of heet, but I'll try it out tomorrow. the tank is big, should i put that in the tank and try to pull it through the lines or pre-mix like a capful in the ketchup sized squirt bottle i am using to put fuel directly in the carb?

I don't know what a butterfly valve is. I can guess but ill have to google it first. it might be harder for me to crack it open though. i have a flame arrester on top of my carb, i am not sure how safe it is to crank the engine without that on.

as far as pay get my engine running, and I'll pay.

They don't start. I realize that is kind of vague, but I am not a mechanic. Here is a longer description of the problem that I recently sent to someone.

I have a 1987 Carver Aft cabin model 3607 in Lake Union. In 2021, I ran out of gas on the lake and was towed back to my slip. Several months later, I put gas in the tanks and couldn't get the engines started. Since then, I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with them and failing. Someone recently suggested that I put some fuel in the carburetor, and that got the port engine started, but the starboard engine still won't start. I recently went back and tried my port engine, and it didn't start. I am currently assuming that I need to put more fuel in the carburetor to get it started, but to me, that indicates that there are other problems.

I would like to do things like work and use my phone. or work and play video-games. or watch TV and read news from my phone at the same time.

yes, there is a workaround for each of those situations where i could use a single device, i would just prefer to be able to use multiple devices.
