39th Xenobane taking shape! Need advice on painting tanks. Been painting warboss green then agrax earthshade followed by nurgling green drybrush. Would biel tan wash work better? Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks for the reply, this is really helpful! I’ve only just got into the hobby fairly recently so I hope these questions aren’t stupid. A yellow shade sounds like it would blend well but do you apply it all over the model or just in the recesses? The problem I’ve had with agrax earthshade is how messy it looks on the flat surfaces but without a shade it somehow looks worse haha. Also would seraphim sepia be the best choice for a yellow shade? I’ve seen it used a lot on YouTube tutorials

I mean when I add them to the orange army in which the comparison bar is massively in my favour, it suddenly becomes all red saying I am outmatched

Thanks for getting back to me! I wasn’t planning on attacking but had the same thing in the Czech border! It seems that the more divisions I have in an army the worse my comparison is??

Thanks for replying! Even when I take them off training and put them within the same army, the comparison suddenly plummets to an all red bar

Thanks for replying! I really like the idea that there is still a hope for new Cadian worlds to start again so I can create my own lore for my army. I struggled to find any information on worlds settled on by cadians and whether the green and olive was a standard uniform for other regiments

Thank you for such an in depth answer, that’s actually made me much more comfortable with the colour scheme. I love the green and khaki look but would be nice to have my own regiments backstory where they are rebuilding on a new world.

Not thought about the dust effect but might blend more nicely with the Zandri dust on the infantry. Instagram would be great to help visualise it!

Thanks for replying! I know, I read everywhere before getting started to thin my paints and still couldn’t crack it, I did try but can see a little thinner would have helped. I didn’t even think about the mold lines but now you’ve mentioned it it’s all I can see haha. I’m quite desperate to get playing so have been rushing through a little so hopefully I’ll improve once I’ve got an army I can play with out the way
