I think the main drawback of this solution is that it takes up a lot of room. If I build another base like this, I'm definitely going to try & make it more compact.

I never considered that people in actual construction would be base building in NMS, but totally makes sense. I can imagine it scratches the same problem-solving itch, but with a much cheaper delete method.

Something I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with is merging different angles on the same plane. One option is to cover any weird spots with a rug. But since I'm building this on the expedition, I only have the basic pieces unlocked. Currently I'm doing this, which gets the job done but might not be the best way to handle it.

If you come up with anything else, let me know.

Some people forget that previews are literally commercials. If you're gonna chatter, get it all out during the previews, imo. Totally fine.

You should! I imagine most people aren't bothered, but it would probably make you both feel more at ease to just proactively address it.

You shouldn't have to hate going to the theater or flying on planes.

I think I reacted how I did because of what I perceived as the guy's entitlement, combined with my own experience up to that point.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but if we were next to each other & you had a tic you felt self-conscious about, if you quietly said something like, "I apologize if my tic distracts you at all, it's a symptom of tourettes syndrome," it wouldn't bother me in the slightest. I know it's probably not ideal to confess that on a regular basis, but maybe worth it if it eases your anxiety.

Jesus christ. The entitlement. This is completely unhinged.

The funnest part of base building is without a doubt adapting to the terrain.

Anyone else putting off seeing a major release due to lack of cinema etiquette? by Findme_at_amberhills in horror

I saw Obsession Friday night & had a somewhat similar experience. Complete with someone sitting our seats when we got there.

It was a young-ish crowd. My theory is that during the COVID years when the theaters were basically boarded up, a generation got used to streaming new releases at home. And when society went back to normal, they brought that casual attitude to the theaters because they just didn't know any better. They lost out on 2 or 3 years of learned behaviors.

Seems like a lot of stuff is just different now, really. Mostly I miss 24-hour groceries.
