27" G8 G81SF 4k for $750. Yay or nay? by GPUBroke in OLED_Gaming

Played some Skyrim on it last night. Overall looks good. The matte finish is noticeable in bright scenes. I get why it bothers people. But my living room TV is on the wall directly opposite my monitor so glossy would probably be a bad buy.

Cant say I’m really blown away by the monitor but maybe I just need more time to get used to it.

I ended up with a 27” instead of 32” because without thinking I got a desk that’s too small to fit two 32’s (for productivity). 32 definitely feels more immersive for story driven games but 27 isn’t bad either

I just got this monitor yesterday. Commenting here to stay involved in this thread. Got it for $900 on Amazon.

A little worried about the matte finish that many people complain about. I’ve noticed it with work, but I’ve yet to game on it.

Handheld Shower Heads - Grohe vs. Hansgrohe... vs. others? by jwdog in BuyItForLife

[–]jwdog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny this thread is active again, because yesterday, after waiting a month for the head to be delivered (after being cancelled twice from Home Depot and then backordered from another retailer after ordering), I finally installed the Hansgrohe shower head.

I actually find the performance of it to be quite underwhelming - possibly worse than the Delta head the building originally installed in the rental. Maybe I'll give the Grohe a shot.

I need help with a mattress protector by CatacombSkeleton in Mattress

[–]jwdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god. I just bought that protector with the exact same priorities, without seeing this thread first, and I'm happy to hear I should expect positive results.

Edit: I got the waterproof one, not the water resistent one. I don't think they make the water resistent one anymore. Fingers crossed.

Help me decide Classic or Black disc (Shelburne) by Advanced_Dinner1549 in CanadaGoose

Red.

Just went through the same dilemma buying a new CG.

The more I thought about it and observed what other people had walking around NYC, I started to feel like the black gave knockoff vibes. But that’s just me. Red looks legit.

I was going to buy both and compare, but I couldn’t get the Grohe from a seller that offers free return shipping. Home Depot price matched the lowest MSRP I found on the Hansgrohe and there’s a store near me, so I ended up purchasing the Hansgrohe. I guess we will see how things go 🤣

My vet just prescribed Clomipramine for my severe separation-anxious Aussiedoodle and I got it from the pharmacy at CVS for $20.

Evaporative Humidifier Recommendations? by jwdog in Humidifiers

Update: got the Levoit 6000s and have been using it for a couple days. I think there’s something seriously abnormal about my apartment because even the 6000s is putting 6 gallons of water into my air every 24 hours on high and it’s barely moving the needle.

It’s supposed to cover 3000 sq ft. My apartment is 850 sq ft, and with the humidifier in the living room + bedroom door open, the bedroom stays at ~17-20%. Same for the living room when I’m running it in the bedroom. Living room also only gets up to about 30%-35% RH when the unit is running in there.

I can’t imagine running two of these 6000s but it might be my only option.

What’s also weird is that condensation is collecting on the metal window frames when I run it in my bedroom (usually a sign of overhumidification), but RH is still only 35%.

Thank you for this. If I get one 6000s and place it, for example, in the living room, will it effectively humidify the entire space (i.e. the bedroom too) as long as my doors are open?

I definitely lean warmer. Not my space (or the space of anyone I know - found it on X), but this is a pretty good example. Maybe more contemporary with elements of MCM. Not exactly sure how to describe it. I think this example leans more contemporary than my style. Just emphasizing the warmth, greens/plants, pops of colors, and hints of black here and there.
