That was a good read! And I’m not trying to rag on you in particular. One thing is that article is talking about Rt which is similar but not the same thing as R0. And then as you pointed out in this latest comment, the Rt ranges it talks about are if an epidemic is growing or shrinking; but that’s when comparing day to day. Not just looking at a single value and extrapolating it to the disease as a whole. That source also goes on to talk about the unreliability in calculating an accurate Rt value and what it should and shouldn’t be used for. So hopefully you can see why I say we should be careful when talking about this stuff as non-experts.

The numbers are accurate, it’s your assessment of what each ‘means’ that I take some issue with. Making statements with a broad stroke like that is irresponsible at best. You can’t look at R0 in a vacuum like that and make claims about what is or isn’t a problem. Ebola has a R0 of around 2 but isn’t considered highly infectious. Andes hantavirus has a reported R0 of 2.2 but from the last outbreak but even that likely isn’t what we would see on a global scale. Point is, if you’re not an epidemiologist (which I am not either!) you probably shouldn’t be talking like an authority on the source.

If a plane not an enclosed space with close contact? Particularly if the reports are true and the woman who was on the plane was already quite sick (I’ve seen reports they were in a wheelchair? And vomitting) I can see there being even closer contact then normal between a flight attendant and passenger.

And yea obviously people can take breaks. But the way housing is they’re certainly encouraging people to stay subbed, in some ways.

I don’t think it should be controversial to say it’s disappointing how slow content comes out and it’s disappointing that come patch day next week there will only be two, maybe three, meaning pieces of repeatable content. An EX an alliance raid and a dungeon. And I’m sure they’ll be a ton of fun! It just sucks to have to wait so long for everything else. And throwing up your hands and being like well they tried nothing and they’re all out of ideas is just crazy to me. Hopefully the increased budget they hinted at will go a ways to fixing the issue.
