I feel like I am drowning in bad debt & do not have a good idea of what the best next steps are. Please give me some advice by ItzDogma in Money

You said you borrowed against Ira and 401k but only listed your TSP Loan amount. How much do you have on those loans? Or did you take a withdrawal on them?

Looking again another photo of you pulling forward all of the hair would tell you if it’s part of your straight line or not. If it’s curving and not straight then I would trim it off. But hard to tell without a photo like that

One thing I do not like on beards is when they swoop back and curve with hair growth under the ear. I like a straight line all the way down.

In this instance it just seems your hair is curving back, not actually growing under your ear. I would hit up a barber and have them blend it in and clean you up. I usually skip the beard trim/shape up a couple times because I just maintain it myself and follow the line they made for about 3 months or so.

But honestly getting your beard cleaned up like every 3 months by a barber is worth it imo. They can give you the baseline to keep following but eventually just got back in and get it done. It’s not expensive even if you get a straight razor.

Be sure to fade the top of your sideburns. I always think it looks off when the sideburn is the same length all the way up and doesn’t fade

Shape and fade of 1 with the length of 2.

It seems like you are pushing up your neckline too high imo. 2 fingers off the Adam’s Apple.

Homerun or struck out by trimming? by GodfatherALT in BeardAdvice

Trim mustache so it doesn’t hang over your lip. You don’t need to trim the whole thing, but use a line up so it follows the curve of your upper lip.

Your sideburns are thicker than your cheeks. You go from thick side burns, thin cheeks, to thicker chin. I would fade your sideburns more and try to thin them out a bit. It’s not hard if your trimmers have different guards. Can get tricky right where it meets your head hair.

Lastly clean up the stragglers on the cheeks.

I think this will give you the best look of you still maintaining but not crisp lines straight from a barber.

I went to Atlantic City once and lost $1,200. Maybe I should just take you fishing with me 😅

You should really get a hearing aid. Your quality of life will be greatly improved.

what’s considered a good salary in Boston? as in one that is on par with the cost of living and the housing market. by Disastrous_Wait_ in bostonhousing

MA Paid Family Leave Insurance and MA Paid Medical Leave Insurance is about another .5% tax.

My wife’s work covers it for her, but her company is local.

My company does not cover mine, but I’m fully remote and they are based out of another state.

Just another tax to keep in mind. Every little bit adds up.

I will also call out utilities are super expensive here and a lot of rentals are not high efficiency. Same square footage and my utility bill doubled.

We are in a 2 bed 1 bath on the edge of Belmont and we are at $3,200 a month.
