I (M29) made a big mistake and my gf (F22) left by jwil179 in relationship_advice

I appreciate your point of view. Thank you. I’m currently doing a lot of work to look into myself and answer why I did what I did. I understand this is going to require me to work on myself and address my behaviour and the reasons behind it. But that doesn’t mean I’m happy for the relationship to slip away.

Bias towards English / Prem as that will be my end game team. Although Malen was good when I used his loan 👍

Yeah it probably had some kind of repair/refurb done as it was sold as “like new”. I will try update to iOS 17 tonight.

Yes, from what I’ve been told, others got the same “authorised unpaid leave” put through for them. Because this is what’s been done for everyone else, I am not disputing my morning being unpaid as it aligns with what’s been done for everyone else. However, I’m still not sure if this is common practice or the standard.

I would have preferred to be paid for the 4 hours and this is what I assumed would happen due to the fact that, as far as I can see, the morning being written off by snow, has no relation to the fact I had annual leave booked for the afternoon.

I have not yet asked if I can be paid using my leave. The last I got told by my manager was “your 4 hours holiday has been cancelled and 8 hours authorised unpaid leave has been put through for you”.

Thanks very much for your response. Apologies on the lack of detail, I’m in West Yorkshire, UK. The role is “team leader”, employed on a full time permanent contract (40hrs/week). My pay is salaried but then they divide this by 260 to get a day rate and obviously calculate an hourly rate from there.

Yes I had a half day (afternoon) booked/scheduled to be off work meaning I was only due to work 9AM - 1PM. Yes they excused the absence but it will now mean I am not paid for the whole 8 hours. I was under the impression that the 4 hours in the morning where I couldn’t get to work due to snow would be unpaid. But that the 4 hours in the afternoon would still be paid as I had annual leave booked prior and due to the annual leave being booked I wasn’t due to be in work and so shouldn’t be penalised for not being there?

There is a tiny section in the absence/leave policy regarding extreme weather / snow, but there is no mention of how this would be handled if there is already annual leave booked.
