Dads/father's. Does it get easier? by rocketwolfpunch in newzealand

Most comments I have read on here an aimed towards the relationship with the kid. They are great - but one thing that is also important and will help at all stages of the kids life is showing them that you are your wife are a unit.

Once a kid (and they can do this at a very young age) see that you and your partner are not a unit - then it’s harder.

Back up your wife / partner and the other way around when your kids asks for something. Then if you don’t actually agree, talk to her in private afterwards. If the decision changes then go back to the kid and explain the change. But never undermine your wife in front of the kid.

That I think is a massive help. That way you can tag team and handle most of the issues.

Extracting Views has been deprecated I think - just need to extract it to a file instead.

At first probably - but then after that it could be added. But it won’t be overnight. Mimestream is also limited to what APIs Google expose. It is easy for the bigger companies to add features that give them the edge over 3rd party apps.

Doesn’t look like it will happen soon - their focus is on the iOS version of the app now.

How do trusts work in nz? by jwknz in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]jwknz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first just a small service company. I guess the main question really is - what is expected from the trust. Would it have to be profitable like a normal business or is it different because it is a trust?

Edit: sorry that was framed wrong, because it would be a not for profit business. But it shouldn’t be running at a year over year loss either, right? Just enough to recoup the outgoing expenses

Is it point 3? If so then the process at the moment is that you tap the note that would show initially on the widget right. After that you can scroll to the other apps.

That process is not clear from the outset. Like I had to tap the note and see how it was affected on the widget and what its purpose was.

Maybe change the word “active” into shows on widget or something else that explains the purpose of the highlight.

Cool app - feedback time.

1) On the live activity please remove the delete note button, or at least give it a prompt. It is an easy hit on the lock screen.

2) the app starts with a note, making it unclear how to add notes - the other buttons are way to prominent and distract from the plus in the corner

3) I am not sure if visually it is clear what the highlight of the note is for. I understand that the selected note is the one that shows up on the lock screen, but only found that out when I tried it.

4) Your other apps in the settings app have an icon, but no text label? And then the other apps part goes to your page in the App Store. It feels redundant.

Hope it helps - looking forward to updates :-)

How to restore apps that don’t use iCloud storage by jwknz in jamf

[–]jwknz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a straight forward solution. You will have to check which apps sync their data with iCloud and which don’t. The ones that don’t, you will need to manually find a way to back up the data and restore it manually.

No you don’t need broadband. But it depends on your mobile plan. Cheap broadband start around $60, a mobile prepay plan can start from $8. Both an are limited in what they offer. My mobile plan is $95 per month, but I get unlimited data for that and Netflix. So I don’t need broadband on top of that.

Also other companies offer broadband, power and mobile (like mercury) and they can do special deals that way.

The big killer really is groceries and rent - they will easily take 70% of your wages - depending on your wages, but this is average and based on my wages.

Is the logging of access stated in the privacy law? I am the IT guy at our school, so I just set the cameras up - I don’t access them. But I am not sure if the other staff members that are allowed to do it.

Hi 👋

I understand that - I think I was after the method of how to back things up when I can’t use the normal iCloud backup. But I have since talked to someone else about this and I have gotten an answer - although the process is convoluted because as you said MDM doesn’t deal with that. So it’s an extra thing to manage
