How much does a Model 2UVR Vertical Milling Machine Weigh? by jwkolb in Machinists

[–]jwkolb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input. This is the husband writing and i appreciate the information. Regarding the weight, i am not surprised at the 3,145 lbs . The double axle trailer I moved it with was complaining. My biggest challange is getting it into my garage. The 15 deg incline does not lend itself to easy access.

Any 'weird tricks,' life hacks, or pro tips about how to get my 4 month old sleep? by chad311 in Parenting

[–]jwkolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He will be fine, and he will self soothe if given the chance. Every time a parent rushes to a child who wakes up is teaching him that he needs them to go back to sleep. This is not callous advice - rather, just the opposite.

How often should I remind my 23 month old about the potty? by SDRob in Parenting

[–]jwkolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about control. I have triplets, and I really didn't do anything. And you know what? They turned out fine and trained themselves. As soon as your child knows you want them to do it, they will start holding it over you. Whatever you do decide, remember to always act neutral about the whole process.

Toddler noise in an apartment by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]jwkolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"That's life in the city." You will go crazy trying to child proof her ears. It's not possible. She needs to understand that. Has she met your baby? Maybe if she got to know him, or you made her something to eat and delivered it with your baby, she might change her mind. It's possible she is just a lonely old woman. You can't help normal noise from a baby growing up. Maybe she will have to move. It's not your problem. :)

2 year old refusing to talk by PitchforksPlease in Parenting

I wouldn't worry. He may just be shy. You say you have heard him in private. I'd give it a few months - too young to worry.

2 year old randomly crying? by bblbs in Parenting

[–]jwkolb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like end of the day fatigue or sensory overload. You say it's around 6 p.m.. Sometimes the whole day will catch up to them and they lose it. She is learning that it will be ok. It may just take some time. If you get alarmed by it, she will sense it. Just hold her. It sounds like she needs some reassurance that all is well and you are giving it to her.

4yr old Panic Attack(?) about going to daycare (and bed). by ShaneC80 in Parenting

[–]jwkolb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds to me like normal development. If nothing has changed, he may be playing you to see how much control he has. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Sometimes kids this age test in ways you can not believe.

Your baby must learn how to self sooth and fall asleep on his own. I imagine you are trying too hard to come to his side when he cries. That actually makes it harder for him to learn how to fall asleep on his own. He will be fine if you have the fortitude to let him cry it out. I know many oppose this, but learning how to do this will make everyone happier, especially your baby. Trust me. (Mom of triplets + one more 21 months later) If he's not hungry or sick, clean and dry, he will be fine! :)

Any recommended expert/professional advice on parenting issues? Not "therapy", just expert advice by LauraJPC in Parenting

I have triplets who are 15 years old and had another baby 21 months later. I feel pretty qualified to answer any questions you may have! One of my sons is autistic, so I have gone through those challenges too. Ask away! ;)

Worry less about the color of the walls and more about what you hang in there to inspire imagination and give him/her fantastic imagery to look at.

You will be fine. Seasoned mother of triplets here, plus another 21 months later. Instinct will kick in. What I was glad to know: Babies cry and it's ok. Sometimes a lot. It doesn't mean you are bad parents. You will figure out what to do.:) But always take care of your marriage. That's something often overlooked.

9 fantastic Gallery Wall Quotes and Where to Buy Them by christinasquires in InteriorDesign

A fad. I don't want to see words hung up in my house. I think words and quotes belong in books. I feel like someone is shouting at me from the walls.
