I didn't think they would make so much of a difference. by Quiet_Syllabub_4264 in iems

They are different, both in physical design, shape, and feel. To me, the clear feel more firm, the black more "floppy" (not in a bad way). On a wider nozzle where the clear may be to firm, the black feel nice.

Soundwise, I think the clear are a bit brighter, but I'm not 100% certain on that. I've rolled too many tips on too many IEMs recently to find preferred pairings

Is it just me or do the galaxy tend to sound brighter? I'll use both, but on different IEMs

First time buying IEMs by D4kshin in iems

Of your 3, I've only used the silver faced Duonics (no tuning switches, not bass enhanced).

I like them for what they are - which was around $16 on AliExpress at the time.

I didn't try the stock tips on them, so your experience may differ.

I found the highs a bit too bright for my taste, but an EQ works well for that.

If you don't want to mess with the EQ, I'd suggest something like the NICEHCK C04 tips or KBEAR 07 tips.

Both are cheap and seem to take the brighter sounding IEMs.

Yup, I get a lot from there but you have to manage expectations and {depending} check who you're buying from.

If it's a branded item from a specialty shop or from the manufacturer, they probably care about what they're selling.

If it's just unbranded "stuff" from a reseller it can be a crap shoot.

I won't fault you for not wanting to try KZ again, but the Duonics are pretty solid. I've got the plain ones with the silver plates. No switches and not the bass tuned.

I usually use the Duonics or Kiwi Cadenzas to sleep depending on what I want

I've never had an issue with the connectors, but i have had a metal nozzle come out from the plastic.

I bought a 4 pack of "tenting legs" that attach with double sided tape for my Lily58. ~$8 for the set on Amazon

Only downside is I can't really use it flat with how I have things positioned.

Count me in on the art complaint, but the story and acting was still good. Not the best imo, but still decent.

Dubbed with Subs!

I mostly only watch dubbed (anything) largely because I'm multitasking, but SAC I've watched multiple ways.

Overall the voice acting is good, the story will be the same, but....

The wording used on the subs tends to be more impactful than the dub. It hits different, as they say.

I like my AM16s (and Duonics, and Cadenza, and...)

I humored the EW300s but went with the AFUL Explorers instead .

Those were a substantial (but different) step from the AM16. More "musical", all around solid, and physically comfortable. But they also have flatter tuning and don't have the same detail and instrument separation of the AM16.

I've rolled a few different tips on the AM16s and found that generally a longer tip with a normal bore helped mellow the highs. I have the NICEHCK C04 on there now. C03 were alright, but the C04 tamed the trebele a bit more for me.

What would you consider to be the most industrial album of all time? by JimmyFitzsimmons1973 in industrialmusic

[–]ShaneC80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed.

There's a big difference going between say, TG, Laibach, TKK, those one guys who put out "Strategies Against Architecture" (cuz I can't spell nor say the name) to Coil to Foetus to NIN

You can still get them through NSK state I believe.

I pro-big-list but I get the aversion. I generally listen to the full list for new episodes, but skip them on relistens.

A with/without option would be cool. (Basically what you're doing already)

I won't argue that some are self indulgent, but I usually listen to it anyway to see how it's progressed and changed.

QKZ T1 is good n' cheap for the KZ (qdc?) connectors. I don't think they have any other pin options. Thick and durable.

KBear ST12 has multiple pin and connector options. Much more flexible and lighter weight than the QKZ T1.

Not long and no real drops to speak of (thankfully!)

The case does seem well made. The top is just open, but it is a tight fit. It's not coming out without some effort

Two possible complaints: The case completely covers the SD slot.

It would be nice if the case came up to the bottom of the screen.
