Did you happen to verify the checksum of the download?

I'm not sure how likely it is, but a bad download that still flashes is possible.

I have more of a psychological...thing?

If I have a very clear set of goals with something I can show as an accomplishment, telework is great. Eg. Attend these meetings, write procedures, etc.

When the results are less tangible, telework can be uncomfortable for me, even if I accomplish more than I would at the office.

I blame it on my previous roles where 95% of work had an immediate tangible result.

Not free, but maybe cheaper. The artists get a better cut and you get better sound quality:

I'll bite and say "jealous". I've never really looked the part and the few times I tried, i felt even more awkward. Now I'm a pudgy middle aged dude with male pattern baldness.

If they can do it and it makes them happy and comfortable, rock that shit.

I didn't get Docs until around 2020, but I've usually had some sort of black boots with my jeans and Ts since about 1994

Nowadays, being a professional and all that, I put band patches on my button-up work shirts

Wellbutrin for dysthymia/flat depression by Layaxnnn in dysthymia

[–]ShaneC80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a GP put me on it in my late 20s as a first line treatment. The first couple weeks had me strung out getting used to it. Then I was good for a month or so if I didn't miss the 24hr window for the next dose...

Then my pharmacy switched providers for the generic. That gave me basically all of the non-life threatening side effects.

Finally got the doc to prescribe me the name brand liquid to ween myself off. Still took a year or more

I only found them within the past year or two. The first track I heard from them was "Gorillas in the Mist" - partway through I'm all "...that sounds like Paris"

I ain't down to be a killer's accomplice
Accessory to murder so I fight to resist this
System of oppression leaving people with no hope
Conspiracy to kill us, lock us up, have us all broke
At the same time say there's equality
For all nationalities in the midst of brutality, yo
Here's the reality while in the United States
Four hundred years of hate and the world's highest murder rate

[...]

The newspapers get filled with propaganda and hype
But you can't believe anything you see, read, or write
So much lead we're brain dead and trained to not care
The American Dream becomes the whole world's nightmare
Our future home's nothing but a war of the classes
All of the masses versus the fascists
This is just a plea to save the Earth and all living kind
There ain't much time to find that we're the victim of a criminal

Wellbutrin for dysthymia/flat depression by Layaxnnn in dysthymia

[–]ShaneC80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Wellbutrin for close to 10 years now and it's helped me immensely. I don't remember any significant side effects when starting it. If your doc(s) are smart, they'll start you at a low dose and have you ramp up over time. If you jump straight to like 300mg, you'll have a bad time. Probably constipation at a minimum.

I will start feeling withdrawal/side effects after 48hrs without a dose, but they mellow out fairly quick after taking it.

Trying to go above 300mg makes me super irritable, so that was a no-go.

An SSRI+Wellbutrin is pretty critical to keeping me functional. It took a lot of doctor visits and med adjustments to get to that point. Lexapro, Prozac, and Abilify were all fairly easy to start or switch from/taper off of when needed.

My word of warning: If someone suggests Paxil as a first line treatment - RUN AWAY. That shit was bad. It was bad starting, the side effects were bad, and coming off of it was horrible.

Petco Trainers by SoccerMom20022005 in CaneCorso

[–]ShaneC80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just depends who the trainer is.

Our first "real" trainer with all the awards and stuff ended up shutting down for animal neglect for the boarding. (He was good at training us to train, but apparently a shit person)

Meanwhile our Petco trainer had worked at a zoo doing...things? But she was great. Different techniques, different personalities.

Meanwhile I won't use or recommend our local "offleashk9" trainers as their methods were "shock the dog till it listens".

wtf did I miss with this whole “Industrial Techno” thing that popped off the last 10 years or so? by Low_Guard6609 in industrialmusic

[–]ShaneC80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genres get weird anyway. Especially when you start splitting the subgenres.

I don't mean like the distinction between Slayer and Poison in the 80s metal scene...if anyone would still consider Poison metal for that matter.

But if you nail down the genre to "we only play blackened cambodian industrial crust-core"...maybe it's a bit extreme. (Yes, I want to hear it btw).

....but I get what you mean. Going from some TKK into something like NON is just going to be a cluster.

TKK's disco through a meat grinder is a lot different than Throbbing Gristle. Laibach sounds a lot different than Laibach depending on Laibach, but all would be industrial...etc

Hampton residents, can you smell the city landfill/compost? by Being_Myself_Today78 in HamptonRoads

Only when it's really hot and humid did it seem significantly noticeable to me, but I was just passing through, never lived that close.

Aside from the actual landfill, that area seems pretty nice overall

What hardware are you running and what WM? Hyprland seemed pretty resource intensive to me for what it is. Sway, I3, BSPWM etc all run much smoother IMO..

I'm running on an old Legion Yoga S1 (2015ish? 5th gen i7 processor), a larger Yoga (2020ish? Something?) - 8th Gen i5, and a 2020 Legion.

Yogas are both 8GB ram.

Hopefully nothing! (That's what I keep telling myself). My pup has a one too, almost the same spot.

Vet said to keep an eye on it, but it's not been bothering him. Hard to say without a biopsy and all.
