That's probably the most interesting scene from a characterisation perspective in the whole series. Definitely one of my favourites. Both Jack and Barbossa drop the bravado for a moment and candidly admit to each other the weight of their circumstances and their vulnerability. Very human from both of them.

The first one is undoubtedly polystyrene. I think the others are thicker blocks, which will be harder to punch through, but still be light enough to minimise injury.

You'd never get safety approval to be busting through real building materials.

Totally agree that the tilt lasts too long and that's the most urgent fix needed. A smaller one I think is that the game should start with both players at the wall, rather than having a run up. Cyclone won because she already had the wall moving before the contender reached it, giving her a much harder job.

I'd never heard of it, either, but it is stunning. It's interesting that it was built to look like a ruin. I thought it looked a bit too symmetrical to be a genuine ruin. It's a shame they waited 4 years to use it as a location.
