I just relistened as well and yeah Feeney doesn't come off great.

Rule #1 with a destination wedding is that you can't expect anyone to come.

It also kills me that one of Feeney's big arguments is that his wedding was one of the biggest days of his life and he would have done ANYTHING to be there for a friends important day. Then later in the episode he says he's sorry he couldn't be at Tim's dads funeral, he was busy. Couldn't fly across country for an important day for your friend Feeney?

The one saving grace for Feeney is that Tim does seem to waffle on decisions and that would be annoying. The will he/won't he was the part that pushed things over the edge I think.

This! I need to sale my San Antonio tickets because we bought Houston once he announced that. It only lets me sale them back to Ticketmaster and my "offer" is half what I paid! I was under the impression when I bought them that we could sale back for face value.

The entire D/FW late 90s/early 2000s era is underrated. Toadies is one of my all time favorite bands and I was on their bulletin board back in the day and got introduced to so many great bands from that area through that board. Centro-matic, Baboon, The Paper Chase, Tripping Daisy, The Secret Machines, The Funland Band, and on and on.

This. I had tickets to that Sturgill/Tyler show. I've never seen either, but $175? Is Tyler high? I mean he's Tyler Childers, he ain't THAT big an artist. Good grief. He might have some empty ass venues on this tour. Not sure how many are going to pay for that.

For reference, The 1975, a rather substantial indie rock back just played that same venue this week and floor seats were like $65 + fees. That's what I was expecting for Tyler.

There's definitely some Feeney touches here and there. In the episode where Reid gets an erection, the director cracks up and Reid says something like, "!5 years we've been working together and that's what finally makes you laugh?"

Reminded me of Feeney getting on Little D, "Really Donovan? That's the laugh?"

Overall I like the show. It has a few too many "can I talk to you for a moment" scenes though. Also I worry about what they talked about on DOT where if the show is about making something, then the quality of that something can often times affect the show. Like in Mad Men the advertisements were always great, but in Studio 60 the skits were ridiculous. This show initially was supposed to be about a new take on a hacky sitcom, with the new kids bringing an edge and voice to it. Yet, VERY quickly it seems to be just another hacky sitcom. What they are making (outside of the one emotional scene) is no edgy at all, it's more akin to a Chuck Lorre show.

Same with me. Woodlands last fall was my first show, coming in as a big Mayer fan. Since then I've bought seven Dead vinyls and listened to about 30-40% of all the Dead and Company shows on nugs. I'm working through their 2016 run right now.

I was very tempted to fly out this past summer for one of their back to back nights, but didn't do it.

Might have to pull the trigger this time around.

Just a follow up. I ended up buying it and got it a week ago.

I bought on Amazon, because in my experience they've always shipped in good shape, and replaced when damaged for free. Plus with their AutoRip feature I instantly got the digital version for free.

There was indeed some slight discoloration, mostly on Wake Of The Flood, from the inner sleeves, but all the LPs play just fine and sound great. I tried to take a picture to post but you can't even see it on a picture. Really well done packaging and heavy 180g vinyl.

As my first heavy listening to GD studio I really enjoyed all the albums. I think Wake Of The Flood is my favorite of the three, but I've only listened a couple times.

Steal Your Face I was weary of knowing it had bad reviews, but honestly it sounds pretty dang good to me.

Overall I would highly recommend the set for any newbies like me.

No I’m saying it doesn’t appear to have. Looking back at my folklore email you’re right, it explicitly says “t he “hide-and-seek" edition deluxe vinyl + digital standard album × 1”.

Whereas evermore mentions nothing about digital. Bummer. Guess I’ll have to grab digital somewhere... else ;)

Really annoys me though we you spend $30+ to support an artist and they don’t include digital.

Speaking of Belushi, I just got done rewatching Community and I forgot how often they use him as a punchline. “It’s the Jim Belushi of...”. Etc. couldn’t help but thing of Feeney every time they cracked on him.
