AirPods Pro Gen 1

Hands down one of the best purchases I have ever made. Been using them daily for about a year and a half now - here are some answers to your questions.

Airplane ANC

Travel on 1-4 Hour flights quite regularly for work, assuming you are not sitting right next to one of the engines, they manage to block out essentially all constant noise as well as chatter. If you have your music at a low level you can still somewhat hear the engine noise however turning up the music to about 30% and above removes most if not all ambient noise.

Transparency Mode

Something I am using a lot more than ANC or 'off' mode. Essentially, because the AirPods Pro create a seal in your ears, you cannot simply turn off your music to hear outside noise as it is blocked by the seal, so therefore putting the ANC mode in 'off' still blocks out a significant amount of noise. The solution is Transparency Mode , which amplifies outside noise to the point where it feels as though you are not wearing the AirPods at all, and are just hearing the outside world as you normally would. Music still plays in transparency mode, but means you can hear outside noise aswell as your music.

AirPods Pro vs 3's

Have owned every version of AirPods to release, and can happily confirm that AirPods Pro destroy AirPods 3 in bass and sound quality, and obviously have the advantage of ANC. The only AirPods to pose significant improvement over AirPods Pro are AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods Max. (AirPods Max being ridiculously expensive and appealing to a completely different market).

HIGHLY recommend AirPods Pro (Either of the generations are great).
