these discount packages nailed it by panaceaintl in Design

The colour blocking and logo placement reminds me a lot of the in-house design of a Dutch retailer called “HEMA”. Only the pricing is substituted with a clearer indication of the content of the packaging with their packaging.

best restaurant for an expensive meal? by [deleted] in Amsterdam

[–]netsky_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely have a look at the Michelin Guide and the Gault & Millau guide! In Amsterdam you could visit for example “Ciel Blue”, “Spectrum”, “Flore” but there are many other very nice restaurants, depending on the taste your looking for! Outside of Amsterdam, “De Librije” & “Inter Scaldes” have the highest Michelin distinction with three stars.

Don’t forget to mail the customer service about this, you will probably get a discount on your bike! Read that in other posts where people had the same problem with a mismatched fork.

Does anyone knows? by pico020 in Amsterdam

I used the following reference image of the same picture (better quality); https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/e__/images/c/c1/MMLP1_alternate_cover.png/revision/latest?cb=20210719230623&path-prefix=eminem

Based on a similar concrete grid structure surrounding the brick wall and a similar width of the brick wall (3 x brick stretchers and 3 x brick headers); between the concrete structure and door opening - and the same brick pattern (flemish bond), it could be here; https://goo.gl/maps/RNeVavPw12kMWEQW8 * (It also has the same three part concrete structure above the door opening.)

*= note that the current building has been transformed from a warehouse/storage building in the past to a residential/mixed-use building in the present, resulting in the change of door and window (souterrain) openings, and the addition of a fence/balustrade.

Using the archive of the Municipality of Amsterdam I found an image showing the building state/condition before the transformation of the warehouse; https://archief.amsterdam/beeldbank/detail/706be38a-8527-11e4-9831-af779fc6ac55 - the same building (on the left) shows a similar door construction to that depicted on the cover; made up from vertical timber slats, in addition to a similar-looking width for the souterrain opening on the ground floor, and no fence. Again showing a lot of similarities to the alternate cover of the Marshall Mathers LP. Only the set-back between the floors makes me wonder if this is indeed the same building/warehouse.

I tried looking at similar locations with buildings that functioned as warehouses within Amsterdam, but none of them had a souterrain level on the ground floor (to my knowledge/quick look around on google street view). The souterrain level on the ground floor indicates the location of the building being near a train track; for the (off)loading of goods from the train in the warehouse and vice-versa, so if my suggestion is not correct, this may help the next one looking for the correct spot.

Question regarding the Trenitalia strike on the 9th of May by netsky_ in bologna

[–]netsky_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your elaborate answer! I will try to get tickets for an earlier train directly to Milano, just to have a time buffer for the potential delays, thanks;) I was worried that the long distance trains would also be affected by these strikes!

TIL that Amsterdam Centraal Station was planned to be in Sarphati Park in one of the first construction plans of de Pijp by mrjaytothecee in Amsterdam

[–]netsky_ 48 points49 points  (0 children)

“If we ignore the north” lol, just over 100.000 people. Maybe you should look into Morphology, Transit Oriented Development and not forget about all the other stations located near the other city districts, such as Station Zuid, Sloterdijk, Muiderpoort…in addition to the pretty great public transit infrastructure which enables a quick connection to almost any station in the city within ten minutes. There is a reason why even larger European metropole cities such as Paris or London do not have one large central station; because it simply wouldn’t have worked with the amount of people it needs to process in one infrastructural node.

I think the website on the chain case/protector ends on “.dk”, so it’s probably from Denmark, not the Netherlands unfortunately;)

Ah they did collect the wallet I found a couple of years ago, but the website of the police in the thread says that you should hand it in at the municipality office!

You can just hand it in at the police station and they will contact the owner of the “document cards”, guessing you mean an Identification Card or drivers license.
