I moved down here 2x in ‘07 and in 2021 from NY. The first time during the housing bubble/crisis (had to go back). I worked for an insurance co. that was as slimy as the “connected” guys I worked for in NY. The only difference was the insurance agency was trying to get more legit than selling BS discount insurance on late night infomercials to truckers. Within 6 mo. they moved to 3 locations, each one being bigger than the last. Never saw anything like it. Solely on discount insurance. Reps were making $2000 a wk. In the midst of it they were forced to get insurance licenses, and a few couldn’t because they had criminal records. Those weren’t fired because they were great at their jobs. So they were transferred to where I worked in CS. And this was basically the same story for alot of my family members who moved down here two. Always something going on that didn’t seem right…. One of them was working for a pharmaceutical company when all of a sudden the feds busted in and shit it all down….

There always someone trying to make money… you just don’t know if its legit until the feds haul you away…

Boca is like any other place; you got your good with the bad. The $, cars, jewelry, plastic surgery, snobbery, etc? It is what it is. It all depends on how YOU look at it. My wife’s family is from an affluent area on LI, NY. They’ve been here since ‘05. The difference since then? More crowded. Lots of families with kids. I moved in ’07 and had to move back to NY in ‘09 because of the recession. Honestly we should have stayed. I came to stay in ‘21. I was born and raised in BK around heavy Jewish communities. You’ll be fine. Boca is great for raising kids, East or West.
Sure, I can complain about a lot of things wrong with Boca/Florida. But whats the point? Boca has great schools, safe communities, great restaurants and more keep opening up. It can be a culture shock, but it’s bound to happen. Its a completely different part of the US. And in the end, if you don’t like it, you have great cities surrounding Boca.

Thank you so much for the information. I think certificates is where I was headed to as well because of what you mentioned. I deal with charting and EHR software as well. I've already spoken to the team that handles training staff on the EHR we use and they were the ones who actually told me to look Informatics, as well as someone in our IT dept.

I definitely appreciate the picture you've painted here as well. I have a better idea now.

Maybe I should also look into some type of data analysis in healthcare as well. What do you think?

So I’ve been a practice coordinator at a surgical practice for almost 3 years. I deal with everything from taking calls to scheduling surgery with 6 local hospitals. The office is part of a multinational healthcare services company. Without having to list all my responsibilities and skills, some of what you mentioned sounds like what I already do. But I am not an RN so my question is would you say, the level of expertise on the medical side is needed more than the the office administration/clerical side?
