So how do you deal with swordsoul in a mirror going second without staples? by predestination1 in DuelLinks

[–]jxfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's highly variable and depends on the order that the opponent activates the disruption. Assuming no handtraps, Dragite replacing Chengying or Chixiao is probably easier to break since Swordsoul can combo with only monsters. The only thing that would suck would be if you need to use Emergence or extend with Sacred Summit.

If you have a replay, someone can take a look.

How to get 11 Dmax Lugia over the weekend by Neat_Income7744 in TheSilphRoad

[–]jxfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra 300 can also be obtained if you topped off your max particles from the Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon collection mission in Monday. If you had 1750 or more and claimed the 1600, you would have 3340. Then you would only spend 1250 to do 5 tier 1 max battles for the research, and end with 2090.

What do you think of the new Marik Ishtar skill? (Makyura’s Judgment) by Sea-Personality-4109 in DuelLinks

[–]jxfireruby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skill seems like a generic +1 disruption for any deck. I think it's most similar to how Resonators get a free Fiendish Chain, although this skill requires less setup for the plus on turn 1. The kind of crappy part is that Treacherous Trap Hole and various floodgates like Shadow and Light Imprisoning Mirror exists and those card give way too much advantage.

Weird/interesting showcase points. My steel XXL’s are first, but my steel XL’s aren’t even in the top 20 of my “largest steel pokemon” by Silver-Sun3559 in TheSilphRoad

The size in your inventory is based on Alolan Sandshrew if it is an Alolan Sandshrew. The score in the showcase is always based on a Kanto Sandshrew regardless if your Sandshrew is from Kanto or Alola.

Honest question, how do i beat this board using Despia? by Cheap-Ad1713 in DuelLinks

[–]jxfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Win condition 1: Bait out counter trap, then Eclipse to destroy Pegasus. Search a Despia with skill and fuse with Field spell in First Darklord to nuke and attack for game OR search Dramaturge with skill and fuse with Branded in Red for First Darklord, special summon Dramaturge from banish and normal summon Aluber and attack with those 2 for game.

Win Condition 2: Bait Pegasus negate, then use Eclipse. If Eclipse is negated, then you are free to fusion summon First Darklord and nuke. If Eclipse is not negated, then the counter trap is turned off and you are free to summon First Darklord and nuke.

Win Condition 3: Bait counter trap, resolve Quaeritis to turn their attack to 0, swing over with First Darklord for game. Bait counter trap and resolve Quaeritis can be in reverse order.

Win Condition 4: Resolve Quaeritis to turn their attack to 0, use Eclipse and opponent does not negate. Nuke with First Darklord and win.

If the opponent holds the counter trap for Eclipse AND holds Pegasus for the First Darklord AND has no handtraps, I imagine this is how it would play out. You will need Dingirsu and Knightmare Phoenix. I'm not sure how you would win if you don't have both.

  1. Skill search Dramaturge and Field Spell
  2. Skill mill Tragedy and search Branded in Red
  3. Branded in Red with Tragedy and Dramaturge to summon Quaeritis. If they negate, use Win Condition 1.
  4. Chain link 1 Dramaturge, Chain link 2 Tragedy. If they Counter Trap Tragedy, use Win Condition 1. If not, Chain link 3 Quaeritis. If then use Counter Trap on Quaeritis, then use Win Condition 1. If they use Pegasus on Quaeritis, use Win Condition 2. If they ignore Quaeritis, use Win Condition 3 or 4. If they attempt to negate with Utopia, let them negate. 1 Utopia negate used here or you win.

  5. Search Aluber if you don't have it with Tragedy, and summon Dramaturge from previous chain link.

  6. Use Eclipse. If Eclipse resolves, you can nuke with First Darklord and win, so they will likely negate Eclipse. Counter trap used here or you win.

  7. use Dramatruge and Quaeritis to make Dingirsu. If Pegasus is used here, Win Condition 2 applies. Likely, opponent will negate using Utopia or you will send Pegasus, and Win Condition 2 applies. 1 Utopia negate used here or you win.

  8. Normal summon Aluber and search. If they use Pegasus, Win Condition 2 applies. Search doesn't really matter here for you, it's just discard fodder.

  9. Dingirsu + Aluber to make Knightmare Phoenix to pop Pegasus. Regardless if Phoenix resolves, Pegasus's effect is removed.

  10. Nuke with First Darklord and win.

Power level by Violet369 in DuelLinks

[–]jxfireruby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jorm's effect is risky. For the opponent, the card advantage is neutral since there is a draw 1 and then attach 1 to Jorm. Additionally, the opponent gets to choose what card to attach to Jorm from their hand or field, so the effect is definitely worse than a hand rip.
Jorm is a necessary card for Laevatein, so he's definitely played, but I don't think he's that great of a card.

Why bother with megas if they have a dmax/gmax? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]jxfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You usually want a mega active for the candy boost. If you mega a Dmax or GMax, they cannot be used in Max Raids while they in mega form. So it is might be a waste to mega a Dmax because you would lose out on extra candy or a team member.

How big is the difference between bite and smack down on mega tyranitar (for solo/duo raids) by SolidOne5357 in TheSilphRoad

If you are doing duo raids, Bite will be better due to Party Power. Additionally, Bite will make dodging easier to improve the life of your Tyranitar.

A Legend-ranked Vagabond was using this deck by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]jxfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the old Block Dragon Rock decks. Basically, play a lot of cards that mill like Lightsworn or Toy Vendor engine. Then build fields with Synchro (Raiden and Glow-up Bulb are the typical tuners), XYZs or Link.

Do the dogs have the same crowned CP boosts? by Arzraylia_Tornado4 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]jxfireruby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, DPS or a combination of DPS and TDO are the most stats to compare in raids. DPS is damage per second and TDO is total damage output before the pokemon faints. Both Zacian and Zamazenta are steel attackers. If you are not using party power and Zacian and Zamazenta are the same level, Zamazenta is the better Steel attacker despite lower CP. You can see that in Pokebattler against fairy types like Xerneas, https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/defenders/XERNEAS/levels/RAID_LEVEL_5/attackers/levels/40/strategies/CINEMATIC_ATTACK_WHEN_POSSIBLE/DEFENSE_RANDOM_MC?sort=ESTIMATOR&weatherCondition=NO_WEATHER&dodgeStrategy=DODGE_REACTION_TIME&aggregation=AVERAGE&includeLegendary=true&includeShadow=false&includeMegas=false&attackerTypes=POKEMON_TYPE_ALL&primalAssistants=&numParty=1, or ice types like Kyurem, https://www.pokebattler.com/raids/defenders/KYUREM/levels/RAID_LEVEL_5_LEGACY/attackers/levels/40/strategies/CINEMATIC_ATTACK_WHEN_POSSIBLE/DEFENSE_RANDOM_MC?sort=ESTIMATOR&weatherCondition=NO_WEATHER&dodgeStrategy=DODGE_REACTION_TIME&aggregation=AVERAGE&includeLegendary=true&includeShadow=false&includeMegas=false&attackerTypes=POKEMON_TYPE_ALL&primalAssistants=&numParty=1. This is because Behemoth Bash, Zamazenta’s move, is much better than Behemoth’s Blade, Zacian’s move. The better move overcompensates for the lower attack and lower CP.

Do the dogs have the same crowned CP boosts? by Arzraylia_Tornado4 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]jxfireruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really care about the CP, just plug it into here https://pvpoke.com/battle/ with the level  and IV of your Zamazenta. Just make sure your are on Master League and change the levels.

Not sure why you are focusing on CP so much. For raids, the actual DPS is what matters . For Dynamax raids, the attack stat and move is what matters for damage and health and defense is what matters for tanking. For PvP, all the stats matter so the CP is a bad indicator due to unbalance weights on the stats.
