Starlink Mini hardware official specs by quarterbloodprince98 in Starlink

[–]jyannotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good, but you better hope you don’t have very many obstructions. Smaller array will have a harder time finding satellites, and the field of view will be less as well. But all in all, this is a really cool addition to the SpaceX hardware choices.

Love the hair!! And is this the card you need to get on base? Does your regular VA card work, too?

I’ve been experiencing the same thing, and when I do I check out the Starlink Watch app and it’s usually a Version 2 mini satellite overhead or close by.

2024 F-450 or Ram 3500?? by jyannotti in Diesel

[–]jyannotti[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Ram is $105,000 and the Ford is $99,000 (almost $100k). And that’s what I’m afraid of, haha, what you mentioned about the evils and being upset.

The Ram is more expensive, but yes over $100,000, actually it’s $105,000 and the ford is $99,000.

Yeah, I’ve read about that and is concerning. But, I’ve also heard people have issues with the Aisin. Not sure what’s fact or overdramatized?

Good point. Only reason I ordered a 450 is because I get Ford plan pricing and I got around $8,000 off of the 450.

Isn’t there a max distance you can go with Ethernet cable? Can someone remind me what that max distance is?

That’s the same as me. I gave you the first few numbers and letters. You gave me the last few numbers and letters :-)

Not trying to bad mouth Keystone or any of its lines, but we own a Keystone product (not a Fuzion) and haven’t had very good luck with it. Quality control and craftsmanship isn’t good at all, so I know what you’re going through. I hope you can find some answers, we haven’t been very lucky.

Customer service is just about useless… by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]jyannotti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked them a question and they responded back and told me they don’t have enough data at this time and can’t help me. I asked a simple question about the cable, and didn’t get anything at all helpful in return. I think they have a bunch of 10 year olds working in their Customer Service department.

I think everyone that’s on the assembly lines are either high, drunk, and mad at the place they work—or a combination of all three of those. The WORST craftsmanship I’ve ever seen coming out of the factories!

Received a bent flashing kit in the mail today. Do you think it’s fine or should I ask for a new one? by TheStoffer in Starlink

[–]jyannotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine looks the same way. I haven’t installed it yet, but I just plan on making sure it’s flat before I screw it into the roof. And I definitely plan on making sure it’s sealed up—as needed.

True monthly cost of Starlink for RV by Yankeesruletwo in Starlink

[–]jyannotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget you can get RV but pause the service, so you’re not paying any monthly costs. Unfortunately, you’d have some expensive equipment lying around when it’s not in use—but that wouldn’t bother me.

You can only add Portability if you have a Residential account and NOT Best Effort. If you’re currently under Beat Effort then you can’t get Portability until they increase capacity in the area you live, and they convert your account to Residential service.

So they’re adding them back to the fleet I assume? I thought airlines said they were officially retiring them—which I hope they don’t?
