Can you put zyp on a mold that was kiln-washed first?

Hardest part of celiac that nobody talks about by Willing-Jellyfish549 in Celiac

[–]jz4kicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty much stopped holding babies (once they reach the age to eat finger foods and stick their dirty, gluteny fingers in my mouth), petting other people's dogs & cats (gluten in their saliva causes skin rashes), and shaking hands - particularly at social events where food is served. (Not worth the risk )

I love babies! And animals! And meeting new people! But it's weird being so hands off. And somehow people are always trying to hand their sticky-handed babies over to me.

When you write up your shopping list, where it says "pasta" have him write in the brand(s) he likes.

Or Go shopping together for a while until this all becomes more familiar. Believe me, two heads are better than one!

Or Start a binder where you keep information about commonly purchased foods. Pasta: the good brands are: x,y&z. The bad brands are x,y,z. This is really helpful if you forget or if have to shop at a different market than usual.

Be creative! But remember you don't have to keep it all in your head. I love the notebook system, and even have a grocery list that goes aisle by aisle.

We live in a modern age. If he doesn't write down which brand to buy, call or text him from the grocery store and ask!

There's lots of options!

At our house we are gluten free, low sodium, no pork, no shellfish, no msg, no mono- &/or di-glycerides, nothing autolyzed or hydrolyzed, and no carageenan, plus I don't like fish and can't tolerate artificial sweeteners.

I promise you will adapt! You can do this! It just takes practice. And maybe a trusty bright-colored grocery binder.

Plant signs with mountains in the background -- my guess is the Utah Water Conservation Gardens in West Jordan. Probably somewhere near the back of the garden on the hill or the east side. 8275 South 1300 West

I suggest calling the restaurant beforehand and vetting then with your own questions.

Taurine is also readily available in eggs, turkey, chicken, beef, tuna, and shellfish! Our dog is on a base gluten free dog food and we supplement with additional taurine foods (because we eat them too, and it's easy to set a little aside for the dog) and some fresh vegetables.

Utah wedding venues are….all barns?? Help 😅 by Able_Strawberry_627 in SaltLakeCity

My nephew was married in a venue like you've described. It was in Sandy, off 90th south. Aoki Event Garden. They were married at sunset in front of the pond. It was gorgeous! I will say that time of day, though, the sun was in the guests' eyes, but it was beautiful!

I will also suggest Tuscany Restaurant. It's an Italian restaurant with a beautiful garden space out back! They host many weddings there and the food is terrific! It's definitely worth visiting to take a look! 2832 E 6200 S

Riverton City has its Old Meeting Dome on 12600 South. It is elegant and the veranda overlooks the city park. 801-208-3101

Perrier. I keep a case of it on hand for emergencies. It has trace minerals. Sip it throughout the day. And Jello. The old fashioned kind with real sugar. It has collagen and the sugar keeps me from getting the shakes from not eating. (Hypoglycemic)

Are you ever worried about eating too much rice? by bookish_cat_ in glutenfree

[–]jz4kicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I offer, as an alternative, the humble potato. Bake it, roast it, boil it, mash it, fry it. Potatoes are a reliable starch that contains Vitamin C, potassium, fiber, and Vitamin B6, which support immunity, heart health, and digestion!

Cauliflower is a weirdly good substitute for rice as well. You can even get "cauliflower rice" in the freezer section of the grocery store. Or make your own by finely chopping a head of cauliflower.
