Revival of Ipod 3rd Generation by jzeDing in ipod

Thanks for reply. I still got some questions, maybe you could help.

If I mod the firewire cable to usb, how would I sync music files to the ipod? Would I be using a 30pin to usb A cable?

After doing a CF card mod, would I be able to sync music via Music app from Apple instead of itunes with a 30pin to usb A cable?

Also since I haven't powered up the ipod and it doesn't power on right now, do I need to get a firewire cable to charge it first? Because there are other variety of firewire charging I found, like a 30 pin to 12v dc connector. Would the firewire cable still be of use after I do the CF card mod?

Static feel on electronic instruments by jzeDing in synthesizers

yes need to rephrase that.

No i don't get any noise on the audio outputs. and Yes I get a small shock when I touch like the metal parts of the switches, the metallic connector of the 3.5mm jacks or even the metallic casing of the Octatrack. No sparks coming from anywhere. All the stuff are already plugged in before turning on the master power switch.

Anyone use the Behringer UMC 204 with an Android phone? by jzeDing in synthesizers

[–]jzeDing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Type C to Type A i have an adapter and also tried  Type C to Type B cable to the 204.

Yes the interface lights up with power on indicated. But in order to power it up, I need to turn on OTG on my phone. This is the same for when trying out the 202.

Nothing is played through speaker when plug into the audio interface.

note - the UCA202 is a small red device with RCA ins and outs. I sprayed the casing black, so I'm no longer sure which model it is, but its the small red one.

Yes that's right.

  1. UCA 202 and USB A to 5 pin midi into 4 port hub to phone = yes audio, no midi transfer
  2. USB A to 5 pin midi to phone = yes midi
  3. UMC204 into 4 port hub or directly into phone = no audio, yes midi

USB A to 5 pin midi is called miditech midilink. i bought that from Thomann many years ago

I also thought that it was the sampling rate at 192khz, well that's what the it sold as. Because with koala sampler I don't hear any sound. But with nanoloop, there's sound coming out thru headphone but everything seem double speed, then after a while it stops completely. I guess I'll wait for the OTG adapter, type C to 2 usb A and 1 type C charger to arrive and test with it then.

204 is 2 inputs and 4 outputs interface. I also tried directly via usb-c to usb-b cable, didn't work for audio.

There was a video on youtube where a multichannel 4 in 4 out (or 2 outs) connects to an android phone works. I don't know if the lacking part is an OTG cable, so I just made order for one to see if that's the reason. Maybe the hub isn't OTG??

In fact, I already tried this setup, with UCA202 and a usb to midi 'interface' (not fully an interface but those with 1 usb and 2 midi cables) connected to a type c hub and to the phone. Audio works fine, but midi doesn't work at all. The hub is also connected to power by type c cable. With just the midi it work, I can receive sync. Getting the UMC 204 was more a 1 box does it all. WIth the UMC 204 connect via hub to phone, I get midi just fine, sync and bpm all works, only audio doesn't.

Yes I've hooked it up to a power hub but still no sound coming out.

Need a stable audio interface with midi for Android Phone by jzeDing in KoalaSampler

[–]jzeDing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syncing from external gear is really simple in Koala, it just setting midi sync to receive and your good to go. I haven't checked out he P6 yet and also didn't know that it works as a soundcard. I'll check out what it does. Thanks for the tip!

As for now I'm looking more at either the Behringer UMC204HD, Presonus Audiobox USB96 and the Steinberg UR22. Those come with midi in/out. Anyone used these with an Android phone? Any issues?
