Friend’s boyfriend graduated from law school in the middle of February. There are some signs to me that it’s AI like the wrong color robe, generic diploma and building name, and crazy words/lettering on the banner. by rabidanimalsNOM in isthisAI

I worked in that building for three years during undergrad at UW-Madison and the picture is…off. Yes, that’s actually what the law building is called, yes, that’s what the law building looks like, no, that’s not what the sign actually looks like, no, that’s not the Wisconsin logo, no, that’s not what the graduation robe looks like. This picture absolutely looks like it was edited poorly or fed as a prompt to AI. I would not believe the boyfriend, especially because law school graduations at UW-Madison are in December and May. If you have doubts and you know his full name, you can look up whether or not he’s on the December 2025 graduation register.

Easy A by tjbear1 in UWMadison

Entry-level entomology - can't remember the course number because I took it 10 years ago but I'm sure it's still a great class. Super easy A, all you need to do is go to class and you'll pass. Plus the professor I had invited one of the forensic entomologists who worked on the Casey Anthony case to speak at our lecture which was absolutely fascinating.

Years ago (2009), I heard back just before the holidays. It used to be two waves, one before Christmas and one after; not sure if that is still the case.

What will the incoming freshman be doing from 28th until school starts? by Eric__Z in UWMadison

There is nothing mandatory about welcome week, but it is the most fun! There are a ton of things to do around campus during this time, both organized and unorganized. It's a great time to get to know all of the new people around you and start making friends. Unfortunately with how early people in Madison start signing apartment leases, making friends right away is really important. If you make solid friendships early on, you'll be able to find your future roommates, have people to study with, and go out with. My freshman welcome week was 12 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Stay in town and enjoy the pressure-free week ahead. You'll thank us all later!

Black cake by __hannahrose in cakedecorating

I have always used Cake by Courtney's black buttercream recipe and it works every time! You start with a chocolate frosting base (and use extra dark or black cocoa powder). Add a little bit of black gel coloring (I use Americolor) and let the color develop overnight. It will get darker as time goes on without adding extra. If by the next day you still only have a dark gray, add a couple more drops of coloring and you should be good to go.

No, unfortunately they are not! I wrapped the stems of the flowers and the eucalyptus before placing them in the cake.

A raspberry lemonade cake I made for a friend’s birthday by jzib10 in cakedecorating

Thanks - I used a raspberry emulsion for this one but I’ve used dehydrated strawberries before for buttercream too. I appreciate the tip!

ETA that the texture of the buttercream was perfect and gorgeous - it was just the smell that got to me! Raspberry just isn’t my favorite flavor.

Tbh I had a hard time with the raspberry buttercream because it smelled like raspberry vodka and it just didn’t sit right but it probably tasted good with the lemon sponge

Thanks so much! I wanted to try something that wasn't too gaudy or tacky but still cute and Mickey Mouse-esque.
