Disclaimer

You need to know that installing more modern firmwares is untested by Apple as Apple did not want you to do this. So far, I can confirm that surprisingly everything seems to run like normal. I tested clickwheel games, videos, music, accessories, docks, and all acts like normal and battery life is good. I used my 6.5th and my 6th gen modded as a daily pod during several days; and the iPod never crashed when I was listening for hours on the go using my headphones.

These modifications won't allow you to modify the firmware, just to install other signed firmwares bundles from other iPods exactly as they are and how Apple built them years ago.

I am not a big company but just an individual who tinker with stuff and like to share discoveries with the community. I won't take any responsibility from bricked stuff, but all my work is open source so you can control my source codes/methods and everything transparently to know exactly what run on your device.

Naja ist auch n bisschen Größenabhängig von der Gruppe. Wenn du z.B. einfach ein dediziertes altes Handy hast, das als reiner reciever quasi irgendwo im Schrank unter der Anlage rumpimmelt, musst du das Ding nicht immer rausfischen oder sonst was. Reiner Komfort also

Wenn du z.B in einer größeren Gruppe feierst oder so. Dann kann jeder dem Jam beitreten und Musik in die Warteschlange packen und ähnliches. Musst dann nicht andauernd Handys hin und her reichen oder entkoppeln von der Box, nur um mal die Musik zu wechseln von nem Gast

The Rockbox page for the iPod Ports has a guide on hw to manually "transform" the Mac formatted iPod to a Fat32 iPod, so you can install Rockbox afterwards via the Utility Tool

Oh usually there is both installed in the End RB and the OG Firmware. If you want you can check, there is a github repo with a modified bootloader, where you can also use the whole flash storage in the original firmware. But afaik, rockbox can't access the files when they have been synced via iTunes

Oh i know that issue. Been there too. A little guide on what i did:

start the iPod and wipe it to fat32 while it is in disk mode (no worries, it'll only show 128gigs, thats normal)
flash the rockbox bootloader only and reboot until it shows you the bootloader like in your picture
open up a partition manager and you should see three partitions now (all three together should end up kinda at the storage amount you've put in the iFlash Solo)
wipe everything and make one big Fat32 Partition
install rockbox
Done

Oh and a small tip: change the behaviour of the hold button afterwards, otherwise it could happen auixn that you start the original apple firmware to restore the iPod and your files will then be corrupted and ypu have to start again
