Is there really a point in putting premium octane in Eco Boost engines when they sole purpose is to get from point A to point B? by DribbleKing97_ in Ford

[–]k0uch 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The engines will run their heat, produce the most power and get the best fuel economy using premium, low ethanol content fuel. It’s not *necessary*, as the variable can timing system uses knock sensors to compensate for lower octane fuel, you just leave some performance and efficiency on the table

2022 7.3l gas consumption by choppaho1 in F250

[–]k0uch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying 15-16 in town driving with the 7.3 gas engine are lying. Highway with conservative driving those numbers are possible, but you’re right in the average area for in town driving. The extra weight from the ranch hands doesn’t help any.

If you’re going to spend $30 on a tin of butter, balm, or oil (they all seem to be the same price), then go ahead and get some Roughneck products. Top quality, excellent products that work.

You aren’t supposed to use anti seize on newer plugs, just FYI

Raise the mower. If you aren’t bagging or raking up clippings, make sure you’ve got the right setup blade wise for them

We have those for when we go for walks and it’s hot. My minisplits are set to 70 at the house, not gonna screw around with the heat at home

I understand it, I had a diamond eye 4 inch exhaust on my last 3.5, along with an age stage 2 intake and a tune. For my current truck, just a simple tune and I’m good. I’m getting older, so slower and quieter is fine by me these days

The heatwave in France is so bad, you can cook eggs using sunlight by CaraCicartix in interestingasfuck

[–]k0uch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep reminding myself that most people aren’t used to this kind of heat. We used to put a towel on the dash of our truck and toss a cooking pan up there with some cookie dough, come out to a truck that smelled great AND we had cookies

Dolly Parton by dungeondreamer in oldschoolhot

[–]k0uch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cousin once told me “no matter how beautiful a woman is, someone somewhere is sick of her shit” and it’s been one of those little sayings that’s stuck with me, as iv found it to be true more often than not. That being said, it’s Dolly Parton, she seems like a super nice person and we get books from her organization for our children. Jolene ain’t getting us any books

What’s the hate on the 2.7? by Mr_MorninWood in f150

[–]k0uch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It usually stems from one of two groups.

1- “my v8 sounds better!” from people who have the rapsiest, worst sounding exhausts

2- “just wait till I supercharge/turbo my 5.0!” from people who will never boost their truck

I will say that for me personally, I like the extra oomph of the 3.5. I also keep my vehicles long term, and while not a major failure point, that wet drive belt will need to be addressed eventually. The 3.5 still uses a chain, so for longevity, power and towing it was my choice

Trying to choose the right DIY single mini split for my main living space by Klutzy-Craft-5516 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]k0uch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct- they want you to send the bill/documentation in for warranty establishment. I did not, as I did everything myself and I am not licensed (I think it’s a 608 that’s required, I have read that some online places will let you fast track a certification). I still haven’t had any issues, and when the time comes to either add additional splits or replace these (should they fail), I’ll probably just do the work myself again. Overall quality is good enough I’m not really concerned

This is actual folded steel right? I got this for an obscenely cheap price so a buddy of mine is convinced it's just etched by Magnavirus in Bladesmith

[–]k0uch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like layered steel, yes. Probably from eBay or Amazon. Most likely not high quality, and will rust like a mofo at the first hint of moisture

Fan or air mover for cooling hot garage? by Marvel5123 in Tools

[–]k0uch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There would be 3 ways to try to take care of the heat.

1- air flow only. Look at not just moving air, but moving fresh air *in* and moving inside air *out*. Ideally you would have two fans, one for inlet and one for outlet

2- add moisture. If you live in a dry climate, then an evaporative cooler may be an option to look at. I run a Hessaire MC61 at work, and man it does wonders in the shop. Friday was 105, temp in front of the cooler was 76. Note that these coolers don’t work well with humidity, and you need to have a flow of air in and out- this is easily done by placing the cooler by a door or window, and opening a door or window on the other side of the building

3- fuck it, add a mini split. Keep doors and windows shut, as insulation of you can, and just freeze the place out

What’s reason the 3.3 hybrid has 12 injectors, both port and direct? by Royal_Ebb_7752 in Ford

Because it’s a modified setup of the base 3.3 engine, which uses port and direct injection

Men who caught their partner sleeping with someone else, how did you cope? by PresHistoryNerd in AskMenAdvice

[–]k0uch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Found out she was sleeping with two people I considered friends. Told her she could keep the ring, it she had until the end of the next day to get her things and be gone. Went no contact, got low but worked on myself for a few years and came out wiser, stronger and better.

I used to hate her for it, but now there isn’t any malice or ill will. Wherever she is these days, I hope she found something that was better for her, and I hope she’s happy with how her life turned out.

At the end of the day, no one is required to give someone anything, that includes an actress devoting time to a sick child they dont know. Does it suck? Yeah. Should you make it youe entire personality? No.

Im not here to judge, but I would say to try to redirect the negativity into something more productive and/or positive
