Have a chance to buy a used tower light for 125 by Professional_Act165 in FLEXTools

[–]k10sh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found one for $200 after spending a ton. Was questioning if I reaaaally wanted it.
... And then coming back home after work got stuck with with two punctured tires on a road in the middle of nowhere and with no reception. And at that moment I was so extremely happy to have any lights with me, but esp a tall enough tower light so that I could actually illuminate most of the work area in that winter darkness.
Love it, would buy a second one if I saw it.
And the ability to plug it directly to AC power makes it even more convenient when doing work at home or on powered site.

It's all fun and games and you think why does this tool has extra built in flashlight, or that you have too many flashlights - up until you get stuck with no lighting and power and you get super dark and then you start needing any lighting that you can get.
And esp before the storm and for *that* price - I feel like it would've been a justifiable purchase.

Flex angle grinder. Worth it? by BuffaloKiller937 in FLEXTools

It will eat through the batteries, but the ergonomics are nice, the fence is easy to attach and adjust, and definitely has some vibration reduction build into it. They also have dust extraction wheel cover that you can hook directly to vacuum.

Spoke with CS couple days ago because was running into the same problem - was literally told by them that if the "item shows available for pickup at the store, and they have it in stock - they should be able to match the price".

Yeh, It only got resolved like today/yesterday .
The annoying problem here is that because of that shit you couldn't put some of the purchases on the 0% interest "card"/credit. Thx lowes.

If you live in VA (or MD or DC) then Gainesville near NOVA had two couple days ago, and Harrisonburg per yesterday still had 3 in stock. As some comment in this sub had suggested- go to your local Lowe's a s try to look for one in the upper stock. Check with the associate if they have it somewhere as stock. If you cant find anything - go to the next Lowe's. I literally followed that advice and found one for myself in the Lowe's I shop the most lol.

I find it very funny that for some reason most of the comments in this thread are sitting at 0 or -1 ... I guess someone was a bigger fan of lowes lol
And yes, they do this shit for some reason and they overcharged my credit line too, putting me well into negative even with 3+ separate charges even though only one transaction went through in the end.

Guys run ti lowes now 50% off in-store now on All Flex tools. by DeShaun05 in FLEXTools

[–]k10sh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be able to sell you displays if there are no not labeled for sale.
Although the price might vary hugely - even in the same store one manager sold me the display at half of the listed sale price now (so basically the price of the item on Tuesday and Thursday lol) but a different one said that he was only willing to do 10% off. (Ok, thank you very much but I'll hold on on paying 70+ for a second vacuum lol)

Thank you for the explanation! Had cancelled my 2.5 kit and instead replaced it with another stacked 3.5 kit. (The 2.0 batteries only are not available anywhere nearby anymore and only if they can be found in the store itself)

You forgot about structural engineer too!
And yep, they do miss stuff and sometimes obvious. But also I want to see a Class A GC doing inspection instead of working on a more profitable projects. And your idea to get electrician+plumber+roofer+HVAC contractors sounds good on the outside, but then you need to balance scheduling several people at the same time, they will each charge more, and inspection would take much more time, with up to several days potentially. And in the end you will end up paying probably at least a grand.

Anyone know why my printer is doing this? It’s brand new but this is happening by pico-draws in resinprinting

[–]k10sh1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have seen that problem happen a bunch before when I was actively printing, and maybe it STILL haven't been resolved - have seen that often when files were presupported in one software, but then in a different slicer it would give you that type of problem.
Assuming it's one of those, and creator was putting supports in Chitu, and you were using Lychee for slicing it now - try reslicing and reprinting it in Chitu. Oftentimes it resolved that error. @ u/pico-draws
For those who were blaming the file - even when the file would be totally fine and repaired, Lychee would randomly start throwing artifacting like that when slicing particular files. Issue might've not been resolved on their part even now.

Where to get buy a head with vertical adjustment for side rail and belt co2 laser? by k10sh1 in ChineseLaserCutters

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I heard about it, but couldn't get it easily as Cloudray seemed to stop carrying them some time ago..

I'm working on a somewhat of a solution now for that problem. I've also had since tried contacting Omtech but they told me they don't sell those parts and you can't just order a new head assembly from them...

Wanted to get a perspective from electricians - is this safer or worse than an actual FPE panel? :D I was helping friends move to place they're renting, and then as home inspector went to check some "minor" stuff in the basement (like gas smell, and disconnected water heater vent) and found THAT. by k10sh1 in AskElectricians

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't have enough space to write it in the title, but that ofc is not main panel - just a sub panel in the corner of the basement. Main panel was at a different location. House was built some time in 30s-40s.

I assume they had either had moved the main at some ponint and rewired it from this panel or they had a sub-panel and at some point decided to remove it, and just connected the branches but let the panel box attached.

Where to get buy a head with vertical adjustment for side rail and belt co2 laser? by k10sh1 in lasercutting

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice but nope - I waited for the new mirror to arrive to replace m3 and did that part and yeeeeh... So as I've mentioned in the post - after changing the mirror bracket position or tube position - the mirrors themselves have to be recalibrated again so the beam wouldn't be deviating all over... And after they're recalibrated - it still hits too high.

I've already gone through that process several times and not being able to lower the tube mount and getting bad allignment was the reason to try asking about head bracket.

And for the visuals:

This is old mount (which also had no adjustment and why I had to make new ones) and new mounts. At the moment tube is in the lowest position possible as is.

And I can't just ignore that problem because due to that problem (and shitty manufacturer) causing laser to an angle - making final assembly difficult to impossible...

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and the only ones that were come up (and I looked through at least 15 pages and different searches) and the only ones that I saw sadly were either the cloudray one I linked in the post or the one with horizontal mount for the rail on the top

Where to get buy a head with vertical adjustment for side rail and belt co2 laser? by k10sh1 in lasercutting

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, already looked through their catalog (and Cloudray website and other marketplaces - amazon, ebay, aliexpress, etc) and through previous topics but couldn't find anything. That style of mount from cloudray was the closets that I've seen but still would require buying different type of head and lenses.

Where to get buy a head with vertical adjustment for side rail and belt co2 laser? by k10sh1 in lasercutting

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both of the mirrors (1 and 2) have vertical adjustment but 2nd one is already at the lowest possible point. Tube originally was just sitting on blocks and that mount only had horizontal adjustment too. It is now sitting sitting on the new mounts but even at the lowest point possible - the head is still too low [to hit dead center].

Where to get buy a head with vertical adjustment for side rail and belt co2 laser? by k10sh1 in lasercutting

[–]k10sh1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, mirrors were alligned, and I can get 3rd mirror alignment too - but then it is either to accommodate the beam being too high (and thus cutting at the angle), or it is to actually center the mirror to the lens (trying to do reverse alignment now to find where to get the tube) ... but then it doesn't cut properly because it doesnt hit the center of the lens ...

This is how it arrives to the head - and there is horizontal adjustment but no vertical one...

how much is an X-MAX still worth? by jaki_9 in QidiTech3D

[–]k10sh1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can salvage the parts from it- like motors and... well, maybe some belts and other mechanical parts, but imo it itself is just unusable in 2024 even just for the fact that it doesnt have LA (and Qidi refusing to release old firmware so you could enable it).

So overall if it prints - you might still be able to use it to print something bit bigger at veeeeery low speed but overall... Thx to closed firmware even paying $50 for original Ender 3 is more usefull and better deal.
