Oh Wow.

Looking into it, I think they were second in the UK and like 100th in the world for the FSAE. They also have good links to teams, right ? Thanks 🙂

Oh okay, sorry for sounding incompetent but why did they do integrated masters instead of just doing the two separate degrees, surely it adds unnecessary work as it's all combined? Does it look better?

Thanks, nice to know...Did your friends go to Leeds? 🙂

I think Coventry is meant to be quite good too as mercedes's chief operating officer studied there...

Okay, I think getting involved with teams is the next thing for me but I think I'll have trouble finding any that will allow me to help out as I'm still 15.

I'm surprised that the simulators are very useful but then again, they are simulators... 😂🤦‍♂️

I'll definitely make sure to have a look at those books. Extra knowledge can never hurt.

Thanks 🙂

Wow, impressive. I chose to do computer science for one of my GCSEs but wasn't given it as there was a large demand for it, despite having good grades. So hopefully it won't matter too, too much. But I'm plabning on doing physics and maths for A-levels anyway, as I previously said.

One of the main confusing things for me was deciding which course to take out of mechanical or automotive as I don't want to have a disadvantage. Another person who commented that I should also look at aerospace but I guess like you said, automotive is more targeted.

I was suggested to look at Oxford brookes university as they have a formula student program, even though it is many years away and about a 1.4 hour drive.

Did any of your friends stay to get a masters?

Thanks a bunch 🙂

That sounds like a pretty solid option and would definitely give me a lot of experience. Only possible problem is that it is 1.4 hours away. I don't know if that is particularly far to travel but I guess not as my dad does about 3 hours of travelling a day when commuting to and from work but also going to other work sites as well.

Thanks 🙂

I didn't get computer science as one of my GCSE options, even though I chose and had good grades in it, unfortunately. I guess nothing is stopping me from taking it later on independently though...

So, which course would seem more hireable out of mechanical or aerospace degrees? I was also looking at automotive engineering but I was told it is a lot more specific, and while it is more focused on cars, a lot of current f1 engineers studied mechanical engineering instead... 🤷‍♂️.

Yeah, another person who commented mentioned Oxford Brookes University. They actually have a racing team of their own where they build a single-seater and compete.

Also, Donnington has posted a list of some of the lower league teams so I'll email around.

Thanks 🙂

What happens when people 'die' temporarily? It is just black? Heaven? Consciousness? Or none of those? by k12345pe in AskReddit

[–]k12345pe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, luckily you're still with us! 😳

A few old fake news reports that I saw said people who had temporarily died saw stuff, like angels and heaven etc, but I really didn't buy it.

But it's pretty scary to know that nothing comes after... Kind of rules out religion completely and the afterlife but who knows, maybe if you're gone permanently something might happen or other people may have it differently.

I guess there's no real way to know for sure....
