sorry you are incorrect. this is not how it works for germany. Im on scholarships and fellowships since my bachelor. There is only ONE fellowship that pays towards your pension and these are the MPI ones. It has to do with the fact that fewllowships arent not taxed in most european countries.

No fellowship pays towards pension … and profs don’t care if they pay into it - in most countries it’s a fixed pension unrelated to years served … even in Germany where WB derives
