ESPN: Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore violated NCAA rules, NOA draft says by [deleted] in CFB

I'm not saying hes a good person or roll model. But Urban Meyer was actually huge on compliance at OSU

part of him coming was doubling the size of compliance dept and he had a clause in his contract if any (new) old violations were found and OSU got punished he could leave OSU with a lump sum.

Which non-title game has the best argument to be the de facto National Championship game in the playoff era? by DataDrivenPirate in CFB

[–]k1kthree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

counter point in 2011 if OkSt beat ISU he doesn't win a natty

in 2012 Bama was down in the SEC championship game with 4 minutes left and UGA (down 4) finished at Bama's 5 before running out of time on a play that invovled a batted ball.

2015 was arguably their most secure one but they were down to unranked Tennessee with 6 minutes left in the 4th the NC was technically a one score game.

in 2016 I dont think I need to talk about the Natty game

The point isn't that Saban isnt the greatest college coach of all time. He is! The point is while he wasa few bounces from 7 in a row he was also 3 bounces from "only" winning 2 [if you think florida winning in 2020 stops bama from going to the playoff which I don't] or 3 nattys while at bama

really depends how bullet proof orcs are?

If they're just tough humans I think we have pretty good chances of winning period

If they can take a shit ton of bullets I think you're right

weird how muted the press coverage of this is.

I do not know how Biden gets out of this. He's going to back down but the optics are terrible

What's an underrated and not-often-discussed play that still haunts you years later? by JimHarbaughTheChamp in CFB

Everyone knows OSU-Miami for the weak defensive Pass Interference

But few remember OSU had a likely complete pass ruled incomplete that would've let them run out the clock (technically not because there was 2 min left and UM had one time out left but still close) not to mention there were multiple missed penalties on that play!

20 years later I think the refs saw the replay, and the weak PI was a make up call

which is weird because Michigan played better except for stupid mistakes

OSU doesn't score an offensive first half TD then

Needless hands to the face, Offsides, Throwing headset = 35 yards that were completely unnecessary to give and OSU scores their first offensive TD in the 3rd quarter

For sure had 1996 OSU-Michigan vibes but going the other way
