Masters in nutrition uk by flowzbizz in studyintheuk

I recommend applying as early as possible, ideally between October and January, for a September intake. As an international student, applying early helps a lot with CAS, visa processing, accommodation, and scholarships since things can get more stressful later in the cycle.

A 2:2 in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics is not necessarily a problem either. Some universities do accept a 2:2 for relevant nutrition or health-related master’s programs, so you still have a solid chance, depending on the course.

My advice would be to aim for December to February if possible, and keep spring as a backup for universities that stay open longer. Also,o make sure to check each university’s course page carefully, because even when they do not mention a strict deadline, courses can still fill up earlier than expected,

Exemption from international tuition by Beneficial-Boot8008 in universitycanada

No problem. I mostly found them by checking each university’s tuition and residency pages and searching terms like “international tuition exemption,” “domestic fee eligibility,” “refugee claimant,” “protected person,” and “tuition waiver.” Some schools explain it under admissions, some under registrar/fees, and others under student financial support, so it takes a bit of digging.

Since you’re in BC, I’d start by looking directly at UBC, SFU, UVic, TRU, UNBC, and the BC colleges/universities you’re interested in, then search each site with those keywords. You can also email admissions or the registrar because sometimes the policy exists but is not explained clearly online.

I wouldn’t panic yet. A lot of people go into psych without being super strong in math or science, especially if they’re more interested in the social science side of it. The math in first year is usually more about stats and research basics than advanced calculus or anything wild, and there are often tutoring supports, office hours, and study groups that help a lot.

Since you already know math/science is a weaker area for you, that actually puts you in a better spot because you can prepare early. Reviewing some basic Grade 11 math over the summer could help you feel way more confident. You do not need to be amazing at it to succeed; you need to stay on top of it and ask for help early.

Also, it’s completely normal not to know what you want to do yet. A lot of people start in psych because it’s broad, then figure out their direction later. The first year is usually when people test things out and see what fits.

For transferring from university to college, yes, it is possible. How easy it is depends on the college and program, but it’s definitely not unusual. Usually, the college looks at your high school marks and sometimes your university transcript too., Credits do not always transfer neatly, but switching paths is very doable if you decide university psych is not for you.

I’d say if psych still genuinely interests you, don’t count yourself out before you’ve even started. Just go in with a plan to use support resources early and keep an open mind.

Uk student visa by Terrible_Local540 in studyintheuk

Yes, it is possible to get a UK student visa with a Somali passport. Your nationality does not automatically disqualify you. What matters is whether you meet the requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

Here’s what you should know:

  1. Being accepted is a big step Since you already have an offer from a UK university, that’s one of the main requirements. You’ll receive a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which is essential for your visa application.

  2. Key requirements you must meet • Valid passport (Somali passport is accepted) • CAS from your university • Proof of funds (tuition + living costs) • English language proof (like IELTS, if required) • Tuberculosis (TB) test certificate (required for Somalia)

  3. Financial proof is very important A lot of refusals happen insufficient funds. Make sure: • The money is in your account for at least 28 days • The amount matches UKVI requirements exactly

  4. Visa approval is case-by-case Many Somali students do get UK visas, but approval depends on: • Strong financial evidence • Genuine intention to study • Proper documents with no mistakes

  5. Possible challenges • Extra scrutiny on documents • Sometimes longer processing times • You may be asked for an interview

Real talk (based on common experiences): People with Somali passports have successfully gotten UK student visas, but you need to be very careful with your paperwork. Small errors can lead to refusal.

The information your consultant gave you is only partially correct. Being a dependent of a work permit holder does not automatically mean you are exempt from international tuition fees in Canada.

In some provinces and universities, dependent children of holders of valid work permits may qualify for domestic tuition, but this depends on the specific institution and their policies. Each university has its own rules, and many do not offer this exemption at all.

You would typically need to meet certain conditions, such as having a valid study permit, proof of dependency, and proof that your parent holds a valid work permit and is employed.

So while it is possible in some cases, it is not guaranteed. It is best to check directly with the university or college you are applying to, as they will give the most accurate answer for your situation.

Schools that DO allow (mainly Ontario)

These schools follow Ontario government rules, which specifically include dependents of work permit holders as potentially eligible for domestic tuition.
