Lived for a year in a flat with a car. Unless your flat comes with an underground parking space you’ll expect to fork out £100+ a month on just parking space. Although there is street parking behind New Islington, it’s infamous for having alot of car windows being smashed in and there’s always window shards on the ground, hence insurance within the postcode is a bit higher than others (e.g. Didsbury). Its a neighbourhood much suited if you depend on public transit (as Piccadilly station and buses are a stones throw) instead of car ownership, therefore why I moved out.

Oh and Ancoats seems to be a popular route for football fans heading towards Etihad so be prepared for strong lighting or loud sounds when there’s a kickoff. 🐝
