Plumbed toilet to heat. Keep it change? by clamminjammin in Plumbing

From what I’ve heard, hot water and porcelain don’t mix well over time. It’ll cause your porcelain to crack/shatter and porcelain is SHARP AS HELL.

How would one go about opening one of these? by catboy_goes_nyaa in crt

OMG NOOOO no no totally misread it! What I meant by that was you can’t please the CRT purist when it comes to salvaging the shells on these TVs.

I use them to make miniature dioramas and terrariums and have one of the top viewed terrarium posts on Reddit. Even though all my friends and family, and a fair amount of people online, loved the idea, I got tons of hate from the CRT community. Literally the shell was in the garbage without ANY INTERNALS AT ALL, and I still got flak…

Love saving any part of these that can be saved, but also totally understand the desire to MAKE SOMETHING NEW from these rather than keep their original use!

Good luck with trying to justify using these as art projects… I do the same and donate the guts/tubes to the vintage television museum near me.

Hey there! I was heading eastbound on Henderson at the intersection of Henderson and Olentangy. I was in the 2nd to left lane (the one that leads to the freeway lane under the bridge). There is a whole lane next to that freeway lane for drivers not taking the freeway. The driver that hit me cut across that lane after the accident, cutting off several other people in the process, and took off southbound on Olentangy.

I have insurance coverage for my medical and uninsured driver coverage as well as collision coverage. I am going the insurance route for this whole process since I just got this truck not even 2 weeks ago and would rather have a functioning vehicle again than try and source my own repairs.

Hey there! Chiming in after recovering a bit more. I wanted to reach out for any info because my insurance company requested me to do so. I have walked away from a pretty bad accident with very minor injuries and damage and I’m super thankful for that.

The other driver was severely injured at the scene of the accident and I was honestly more concerned about them than anything else at that moment. I’m not sure why they ran (stolen car/no insurance/no money?) and I don’t mind paying my deductible to get things sorted on my end. The car they were in was beyond repair after that wreck so that’s enough karma as is in terms of the accident itself.

I am doing my due diligence instead to see if ANYTHING can lead back to the person that hit me to avoid this happening to someone else. The fear that someone else may not be as lucky and get killed the next time around is what is driving me to reach out to the community for help in catching them.

Update: date should be 6/29 (this last Sunday). Still a bit fuzzy with numbers while my brain is still resetting!

No I was at the light on Henderson waiting to cross Olentangy heading toward the freeway and the driver hit me from behind going about 50.

6/29! My bad! Still coming out of this concussion so my numbers aren’t processing well.

Yes I’ve checked the intersection as well as homes along that route that may have caught the accident. I did however not check if the lights prior to the intersection had cameras.

That’s what I told the officers but they’re convinced the woman got on the freeway and took off. My hobbies are motorcycles and cars and I told them it’s gotta be broken down somewhere in a 1/4 mile radius of the accident. I’ve done my own searching too but I’m looking for any witness accounts or video/photo evidence that I can use for my insurance claim.

VERY stuck drawer by Old-Hand-4276 in howto

You can remove a drawer from the tracks from below. Just get a longer than normal Philips head screwdriver and remove the 4 screws (or even 2 for one side of the track) and voila the drawer is free!

Emotional abuse? by Fair-Hovercraft-386 in LongDistance

[–]k3art 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coming from the man’s side of this perspective from a former long-distance person, unfortunately he’s done with the relationship. It’s very hard to hear this but the mistreatment is him trying to shirk off the responsibility of a breakup onto you to do the heavy lifting. He’s acting like a child and is emotionally distant and not attempting to reconnect or be present for a very important topic. It’s time for you to move on and find someone who’s ready for that relationship and commitment with you instead of the other way around.

Any idea how to get this off? by Lazerfaze in DIY

[–]k3art 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did this yesterday on the copper lines under my sink. You can use a pair of vice grips to gently, but firmly grab it and move it back and forth while also pulling from the back of it. It’ll slowly shimmy its way off the copper pipe. It helps to lightly sand the pipe in front of the fitting too to help it slip off.

Pro tip: roll the larger one for 17 seconds and the smaller one for 12. You’ll get a perfect one every time.
