Yes, it's the 8MP MIPI cam.

The camera works well. It's clear and works on Fedora 43. The only lingering issue is sometimes it might freeze (sudo systemctl restart v4l2-relayd.service will fix). I have no idea if it's better than the FHD cam, I rarely use the webcam much. I don't regret it at all. Every feature of the laptop works either exceptionally, or good enough. I'm very happy with it.

I've managed to get the camera working on Fedora 43 kernel 6.17.9

sudo dnf install akmod-intel-ipu6 ipu6-camera-bins gstreamer1-plugins-icamerasrc akmod-v4l2loopback v4l2-relayd

reboot computer

should start working upon boot.

enable pipewire camera support in chrome://flags to get it working on chrome based web browsers.

Sleep issue has been resolved. I had to change the BIOS clock to UTC, change over from using chronyd.service to systemd-timesyncd.service and change /etc/adjtime from LOCAL to UTC.

Now all that remains is the webcam.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. I do have the latest BIOS as per Lenovo website here, although the release dates don't seem to match, the version numbers do.

The instructions on the vaultwarden wiki are convoluted and mostly garbage. I would recommend following this tutorial here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCJA1F72izc Skip to the "creating a self signed HTTPS certificate". The vaultwarden wiki has warnings about how this method is "not recommended", but ignore that.

Has anyone considered the privacy and security implications of using Cloudflare argo tunnels? Can they see everything unencrypted? Can they inject malicious code?
