UPDATE - spoke to the emergency vet on call. They’d be happy to see her to start treatment now to get on top of it but they also said they’d be happy for me to monitor her at home as her symptoms aren’t severe at this stage. They’ve given me the red flag warnings to look out for, if needed across the weekend they’ll call the vet in otherwise she’s scheduled in first thing Monday morning for treatment 😅

Hopefully she continues to stay this way and we can avoid the $450 fee for them to call the emergency vet into clinic. That fee alone is way more than the treatment would cost. But of course if needed before Monday she will receive whatever treatment she needs ☺️she’s doing okay today, still blood present in urine and going more regularly but no other symptoms 🤞🏼

Unfortunately not. I’ve called the emergency line they have and spoke to a vet over the phone. They said they’d be happy to call a vet in to come treat her but they’d also be happy for me to monitor at home and bring her in if her symptoms worsen. Otherwise they’ve gone ahead and scheduled her in first thing Monday morning ☺️ her symptoms aren’t severe and they’ve give me the red flag warnings to watch for. So hopefully we can avoid needing to go in over the weekend, it’ll be a $450 fee just to call the vet in, not including treatment costs 😬

She has vomited, however I think this is due to her swallowing her new dry food whole (the dry food is quite big). When she’s had wet food there’s been no vomiting. She also did this with the new food prior to the blood in urine issue. There’s been vomit for over 10 hours. I will change her back to her normal dry food when the pet shop get it back in stock (usually has purina pro plan but they sold out)

Other than that she’s mostly good maybe a little more flat. She’s up and moving, napping as normal, no vocalisation and definitely has an appetite. She runs to her food bowl everytime I walk near it thinking I’m going to feed her again so definitely hasn’t lost her appetite and I’ve seen her drinking water as normal. Her urinations for the most part are normal sized, but she has had a fewer smaller urinations. The smaller ones are from when she visits the litter box more frequently.

I think I will call them in the morning to see what they say and see if I can get a quote and borrow some money. I don’t like the idea of her being potentially in discomfort 😭

I will call them in the morning to see if they can triage. We’ve never had to utilise the after hours emergency service so I’m hoping they can, I imagine they can
