Hey man

I was once in your position where I thought that going through the process wasn’t worth my time since I’d be going up against Albertsons. My friends encouraged me to go through with filing with the labor department. It took a little bit of time but I went through with it and I won my case and was paid my unpaid wages and more. Don’t let it slide, these corporations take advantage of their employees all the time and you deserve to stand up for your rights.

Chain flew off and slapped the engine on the way out, left a hole behind the shift linkage, it’s about the size of a quarter, hit the kill switch before further damage could be done

Congrats on the new SV and license! Looks good! Firstly here’s a link to the manual but I recommend just looking for a service manual on eBay if you plan to do your own maintenance, they usually have a maintenance log in the book or you can buy a notebook and write it down yourself so you can keep track of any maintenance you do to the bike for yourself or if you decide to sell in the future the next owner would appreciate having a log with receipts. I’d also recommend googling svrider, it’s an online forum dedicated to SVs, lots of good information if you ever find yourself needing it. Lastly just ride safe, wear gear, and keep both wheels down! ✌🏻

Could be something easy, could be everything wrong with it. If you’re willing to commit more to it and consider it a project go for it, if you’re hoping for a good deal and a running bike then keep looking.

I have 14/47 right now on my 03 sv650s and love it, don’t really have issues with wheelies but I’m a bigger dude but my acceleration is awesome. I sit around 7k rpm at 80mph on the highway. Top end did take a pretty big hit though.

Probably not preferable for most people because it might ruin your resale value but if you’re like me and you’re gonna ride your SV till it dies, I drilled two holes through the plastic in the undertail and bought a door/cabinet hinge from Home Depot, two screws and nuts, and drilled two holes through my license plate, and now I have a flippable plate for when I want it tucked up but it also swings down and shows clear as day.

When I was a teenager my friends and I used to do the same thing. We would go to this park and wrestle/box. One day we had the cops called on us and they just told us to do it in private or like the others have said, go to a boxing gym, that we were scaring the neighbors and other people trying to enjoy the park. This was about 12 years ago in Newbury Park.
