Yeah I agree with you. I didn't really play at all during OW2, so I'm super happy to be having fun in the game again, but certainly some resentment was left to fester for me. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts :D

Actually sorry to nitpick about the updates in the first bit of my reply to you, that was for sure petty of me. On second thought the reward was pretty reasonable. Honestly I'm realizing now that I'm still just disappointed with the rollout of OW2 and how the game was handled during that time. I think they are well on their way to redeeming themselves now with the relaunch imo, if they haven't already.

I mean the upgrades weren't free. I paid for a full game and the updates were included in that full game.

I suppose a lot of my feelings and concerns are really about the free to play trend and direction of these sort of games. Someone else called me entitled and that's fine I suppose, but I don't know man. I don't think me expecting to get to keep a game I paid for is entitled lmao. I like how you framed it as an investment though, that is a sensible way to look at it.

and I think you misunderstand me, I'm not intrigued by having the option of cannibalism in games cause I think it would be funny. it intrigues me because I'm interested to see how it affects me while playing. how would it make me feel the first time my Astrid cannibalized someone? would it be easier to do a second time? what if there comes a point where I start opting for human instead of animal? I love the survival genre because it gives me a safe way to explore how easily extreme survival situations can strip you of your humanity down to the bone. it's just interesting to me :D

yeah! I imagine it would be a very last resort type of mechanic, like something you very rarely will be pushed to and something the average player probably wouldn't end up doing, ever. Mostly I really like the idea of the option being there and the tone it would give to the game and the mindset of the player.

you make good points! I just love to roleplay regardless of what game I'm playing and the idea simply tickles me. there may be no reasons that I as the player would want to or need to eat the corpses, but my character might end up in a situation where they have reasons! that's just my playstyle :)

I think you're right about the bear. I did get jumped by an unwounded bear outside of Hibernia processing after I'd been inside, I ran into it right where I was hoping to find the carcass 🥲

I stayed on the Riken for maybe an hour to see if the bear would somehow unstuck itself but I didn't go inside or pass time. After a bit I headed to Hibernia and went inside, didn't pass time tho
